well my pc is poo, i dont no alot about pcs but ino i have a geforce 6200 and 1 gig or ram.

Reinstall WMP, I doubt it could be much more then that.
Malware (virus, adware, spyware, etc) scan would also be another good idea.
i have the exact same problem when i try to view videos on wmp it freezes up and have to en wmp in the task menu which takes ages to come up, it also says im using 100% cpu usage. i can view videos on google video and youtube but not on putfile as it uses wmp. i just changed my drivers so that might be the problem, i cant remeber what drivers i used to have but they gave me an option to overclock. if anyone knows what drivers they are could you please tell me or gimme a link.

Which version of WMP are you using?
Start up your PC do nothing..hit Alt + Ctrl + Del.. go to processes.. if your CPU ever spiked to 100% or close to it.. then theres a programm running which will hold you back. If not.. run Windows media player..repeat the alt + ctrl + del thing and see how much usage the WMP takes up..if it is alot..then ur screwed and maybe ought to try a different way of playing ur music..popeye wrote:

I had a similar problem.
Every thing would stop and the cursor would move now and again.
I had to close it in Task manager to carry on.
The thing that solved it for me was windows update.
