I decided to build a new computer this christmas. I'm familiar with building PC's, but I need help with which parts to purchase. I'm setting my budget around 1350€.

I live in Finland so if the company isn't from here, they should deliver to Finland.

I'm thinking of getting an intel E6600 and an Nvidia GPU (just because I'm used to Nvidia) but I have no idea about the rest of the items. I already have a monitor and DVD drive, so I don't need those.

At the moment I'm thinking of purchasing from www.beesting.fi (the site is in finnish so it's not much help for anyone outside of Finland ).

Thanks in advance!

Well that site may be in finnish, but it's certainly not finished.....

I'm sorry, I'll walk away now.

I know you are not shopping there, but go to www.newegg.com and their site to match up compatible components, then check you Finnish site for the same items. For example when looking for your motherboard, you can filter by your socket (Socket "T") and see only boards for that socket. Then you can filter by popularity, price ect. The reviews offer some help as well.

For a motherboard I would normally suggest ASUS ...

Are you reusing your hard drives?

I think I might use my HD for storage, but I'm definately going to buy a new HD too.

It would help if someone could give me examples of what I can get for say 1200$ from newegg. I really don't have any idea about which parts are good now

wait for DX10 to get the best computer or just for the prices of old parts to drop, either way just wait a bit longer.

I'm waiting till christmas and then I buy my self a new system. I might get a cheaper GPU first and then go for DX10, but I'm definately gonna buy it around christmas.

I created a shared list ( I'm $11 over): https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wi … ID=4161488

I went light on the hard drive (since its not a long term storage source).I also wasn't 100% if it was better to haver the spin vs sataII. But there is some play there. When I rebuilt, i got a 7950gx2, dx10 will be out .. but wont be in full steam for a while and to me is not a big deal (but im impatient )

I also went light on the video card, and you knock some money off there even more. I did not check to see if it had sound. I rebuilt recently and still had a sound card which is why i may have neglected it.

I am partial to ASUS, and tended to stick with as many ASUS parts as possible.

Good luck .. at least this provides some basis for discussion.

Another factor not considered here is psu! Good luck to you.

The ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe is an awesome board, DDR2, up to 3 HDD slots and built in wireless if you're into that sort of thing. Its ATI crossfire ready as well, but im not sure if SLI runs on a CF Mobo

As for the RAM, much as you like but Corsair is lush, and good choice for the E6600 - gr8 cpu

Sound card ain't a priority but The Creative Soundblaster seems to do the job - 7.1 compat
