hi, Ive borrowed my father in law's windows xp disc but he does not have the book with CD key . i was wondering if there is anyway i can find the CD key on the disk. any help would be much appreciated
The key is not on the disk.
There's a program called belarc advisor http://www.belarc.com and they've got a program that will give you the key to programs that are installed. (note: not for bf2). Have him install it on his computer and you'll be able to get it.

Ummm isn't that pirating XP. Unless he doesn't have it installed on his comp or its a multi-computer XP disc. But if his is already verified, i don't think that they will allow 2 copy's of it to be verified
Yep, you can even make your own (e.g. to 'slipstream' Service Pack 2 into an SP1 install CD)...Viper007Bond wrote:
Yeah, all the discs are printed exactly the same (for the most part).EricTViking wrote:

As for the piracy/will it even work issue - yep this is strictly piracy - as I've said elsethread, the XP license is per-machine - so if you install from one CD onto two PCs, you'll not be able to 'verify' one of the installs.
