Shotguns Should Be WAY More Deadlier In Game!

Is it me? Or is the shotguns just not as deadly as they should be in the game? I've been around guns all my life, and I know that this is just a game, but for crying out loud, the shotguns should destroy your ass at CLOSE range! They are a close range weapon, but I just can't believe how the game portrays them. I have to feed your ass about 5 or 6 shots before I kill you. Sometimes I get lucky with one shot...SOMETIMES!

I was your worst nightmare in Counter Strike...I could not be touched when I had the shotgun! But this game...I'm everybody's beetch!

I have used this gun for many hours hoping to master it, but it just isn't doing the job like it should. I wish they would fix this in any new patch release.

Anybody else feel me?

Umm....anytime Ive used it, to kill with one shot I had to pretty close. Other than that, it takes a few hits....but its a shotgun, If Im at any distance at all, I expect it to take a few shots, because if its shells are filled with pellets, they will spread. 1 of the 8 pellets may hit them, thus requiring more to actually kill them. IDK, it makes sense to me, I have no problems with them.

You wanna talk about underpowered, lets talk about the .50 calibur sniper rifle that doesn't kill you if you get shot in the chest. On topic though, I think it's you. You need to hesitate a little bit with the shotty to get them right in your sights. But it still won't beat an ak-101 everytime in CQC. Your stats don't really reflect a star player though, no offense meant. So I would say keep practicing. Afterall you only have like 250 kills of something with it so after you spend more time with it you may find that the technique of using a shotty just comes to you. Oh and btw the auto shotguns, the DAO and the JAckhammer are shit imo and I rarely if ever use them (the mec shotty is ok). They almost never get a one hit kill on anybody, so if you really want to practice with shotguns head into the alleys of karkand as US with the stock shotty and practice away.

Practically took the words right outta my mouth. Shottys are always 1 hit kills for me. You must not be lining them up correctly.

I only use shotgun in Iron Gator and if I'm US. The US shotgun is brilliant. One shot one kill. Iron Gator is the best for shotgun as it's all close range.

I've got two complaints on the shotguns in this game. The spread is insanely rediculous. In the game the shotgun has a couple feet of spread at 10ft, in real life it takes about 50yds to get that kind of spread. (well unless you have an insanely short barrel). But I really have yet to see a game that portray's shotgun spread realistically so it doesn't bother me that much.

But what bugs me more than anything is the US shotgun. In the game it's called an M11-87, and is portrayed as a pump shotgun, IRL the M11-87 is a semi auto gas operated shotgun, talk about not fact checking the game.
