My connection is 100mbit/s and i just wonder if that's low since it does'nt help my surfing nor my gaming. I've no knowledge in that area so don't "noobify" me hehe.
100 mbit/s SLOW??? Thats something servers use quite often.
I think you never have experienced the 56k modem :F now THATS slow.

Well since I upgraded my connectionspeed it has'nt made any difference to what it was before.
Are you talking about your ethernet card or you're service providers bandwidth allotted to you?
yo nitroglycerin... you probably have Broadband company like me... and they didnt upgrade both ends.. u had 10/10 mbit .. they upgraded to 100/10 mbit... either u just made this post to brag ... or u have programs up in the background... and a few viruses on your computer... on nordic servers u should have a ping of max 30...
get some anti-virus stuff... clean your computer.. (defrag) or something... or maybe your playing servers that are all across the world.. dont think u can get super nice ping there...

Ehh... that didnt mean a zip to me. On my interneticon it says that my connection to my local network is 100Mbit/s. If that isn't anything special, my internetcompany totally screwed me for money hehe[CANADA]_Zenmaster wrote:

If that's your LAN/network speed, that doesn't matter crap, because even the slowest LAN/network is going to be cruising far ahead of even DSL. The slowest Ethernet cords I know of are 10 MB/S, and I've heard DSL comes in at around 500 KB/S. That means the network is going 20 times faster than the internet. The only real use for high-speed LAN connections is if there's a lot of file-sharing going on, where you do need speeds ranging from 100 MB/S to 10 GB/s (though I may be wrong on the 10 GB/s). Even wireless goes from around 10-50 MB/s (depending on what frequency your wireless is-As are around 11, Bs, Gs, and Super-Gs around 50).
So, I think that 100 MB/s is your LAN speed, which means that that upgrade was for diddly-squat when it comes to surfing/gaming. If you want to improve that, get an internet upgrade (cable, DSL, etc.) As for that, I use cable, and even with 2 or 3 computers gaming online simultaneously, that usually suffices (as for the graphics, your computer does not recieve the actual graphics through the Inet-it recieves things such as player locations, bullets fired, etc., and renders that on-the-spot).

No, it is not my intention to brag.Wisher1981 wrote:

I do have a couple of viruses that won't go away with my adaware nor norton antivirus, so that might just be the reason... Thanks
