I have a G5 and I've never, ever used my side button. I've switched to using the side clicks on my scroll wheel and I'd never go back to using my thumb. It's so much easier!
i just bought a mx518 from newegg, cant wait to see what the fuss is about!!! i almost bought the cheaper razer, but liked the mx518 options more.

Should have gotten a Copperhead. But good choice with Razer. My Copperhead gives good "head" though._-_911_-_180891 wrote:

yea thats pretty good mouse, alot of people will be insisting on getting the MX518 and G5 etc. If the mouse feels comfortable , then its the mouse for you. I love my copperhead

Yea thats a good mouse.
logitech 518 ftw
Yeah, I like my G7. Wireless is nice, but the battery always needs to be changed at just the wrong timesh0ten wrote:
had a 510 and a 518 and both were exceptional ... got a g7 now, one downside is one less thumb button but no leads no stress, wouldn't go back to wired now!
i have a G5 and it works very good for me...havnt tried any of them other ones though:/
I need a new mouse, and I guess a lot of people are using the 518 so I guess I'll pick one up at bestbuy for 20 bucks since there on sale =O.
Since ya'll are on the topic of mice... i have a question.. I play with an optical mouse, microsoft I think (once i get home i'll know fo sho), and it has some side buttons by the thumb.. are those programable in BF2? I tried setting them up using the in game control settings, but BF2 only recognizes buttons 1,2 and 3 (wheel click)....
are getting the thumb buttons working mouse model and driver dependant?
and i'll ask this.. do many of you utilize the thumb button.. im guessing for melee or nades?
thx

Logitech G7
G5 & G7 Suxx hard (G7 even more, cuz the batteries are too heavy. Both have only 1 thumb button. The M518 roxx, like it more than the Razer, cuz they are too flat and the thumb buttons are too small.
For $20 I would have bought the 518 also... but I didn't see any good deals on a PHAT mouse for less than $50 so I bought the fry's generic (emprex) gaming mouse. It does everthing the rest of the high end mice do, 2000, 1000, or 500dpi, switch on the fly via buttons above and below the scroll wheel. I'm still tinkering with my BF2 settings, but it's nice to jump up to 2000dpi and spin the tank turret around 360* in under 10 minutes.Tro0per wrote:

Check it out:

And it's $25 all the time at Fry's.
If you can't get it to work from bf2 then try to assign a letter to it from windows mouse settings and then assign the letter from bf2THEBUNGALOWJUNKIEKID wrote:

and sensitivity adjustment on the other side
I have a microsoft USB intellimouse explorer 3.0... trouble is I need the software to access all the button assignment stuff.... I'm looking right now...

I got a G5 together with the Razor exactmat, but the G5 only works on the speed side, not the control side.
Anybody else use this combo?
The G5 just felt better for me thats all.
