Which socket type is better?
AM2, but 939 processors are cheaper, and their mid ranged processors are amazing.
939 IMO, personaly, if you know what I am saying.

AM2 is more developed, and supported, they cut support for 939, but theres not many differences between the two with performance
AM2 supports DDR2 if that matters to you.
I have a 939 right now, but pretty soon AM2 is gonna dominate the market (IMO). You can build a pretty sick rig with a 939 socket type for cheap and you can overclock nicely.
I love my 939, but I know in the near future I'm gonna want AM2 and will most likely upgrade.

Core 2 duo is better then any of those.
There's no point in getting an AM2, you might as well go with a conroe. 939 is still a worthwhile buy, because they're so cheap and still pretty good, they haven't just become crap overnight - AM2 is rubbish though, much more money and very small performance increase.

Intel. I was always an AMD fanboy, as some of you might consider it, but now owning a 'New' Intel Core Duo in my mac, has made me change my mind.

Yeah me too, i love my core duo mac. But i also have a 939 and they are so cheap right now. You could build a badass machine right now for hardly any money.Bernadictus wrote:
