i believe all that and the importance of them no doubt, but i just think the jackhammer friggin sux
Hey guys sup,
This one time if I could have hit my teammate in the head with a mine and knocked him out could for the round I would have!
I laid serveral mines down and hustled over to the side to watch the explosion when along comes a teammate engineer, he then takes my mines away and puts his own! That son of a bitch! lol I never seen such ignorance in this game. lol

Engineers can be great for defense. I played a round on Karkand once as US commander and at the start of the game my teammate wisely drove our tank right to the Gatehouse. I was psyched because the US will usually dominate if they get the Gatehouse early (and that would make me look like a great commander ).
But my teammate couldn't get the flag because two engineers had laid mines blocking his access to it. He drove around trying to shoot the engineers but they just hid. After wasting about five minutes getting zero points, he had to just drive away, totally neutralized.
Of course, a sleazy countermeasure for AT mines is cartillery. Vehicle drops can clear away mines pretty effectively. I've also seen engineers get killed laying mines when the enemy commander drops a car on the mines while the engineer is still nearby. Engineers will be even more effective when cartillery is gone after 1.4 (hopefully).

OK so you can put the mine in the water, but only if it's shallow... are all crossings considered shallow or does it have to be near the land on the slope?
And I wholly agree with the bridge to the MEC base on Karkand. Blow it ASAP. Limit access to your assests.

if you can walk in it w.o swimming, it's shallow,if a tank can go through it, it's shallwo. if you run a tank inot it and the tank sinks, it'snot shallow and you are dead.
