It's amazing, on a game that requires a good amount of awareness, a lot of people seem to lack it. Nothing pisses me off more when my team loses a round or an important flag because they're too stupid to realise whats happening around them.

Examples:

1.
You throw a grenade, only for your squad mate or team mate to go running gungho straight into your nade -4 for you. Now if only he'd paid attention to the "FRAG OUT" and the animation of you throwing it, maybe he wouldnt be lying there dead yelling medic. Now, anyone with any common sense knows that a grenade next to you is not good. I know when one lands next to me, I'm trying to get the fuck out of there.

Tip for the noobs: Grenades are not powerups.

Awareness.

2.
You're flying 40 and 0 in a jet and go to rearm only to find you have a chopper flying directly over the runway, full of your teammates. Since you're not expecting this, you try your best to move out the way, you see the chopper pass and you think you missed it, but no. What's this? Oh noes. You're now 40-1 thanks to the awareness lacking chopper pilot.

Tip for the noobs: Runways are not meant for choppers! Go around!

3.
You're rolling around Karkand in armour advancing from one flag to another only for a whole squad to suddenly appear in your view, not expecting this (who honestly plays chicken with a tank and wins) you don't have time to stop and suddenly you flatten them all, resulting in all punishes and a kickban from the server.
If only they'd have the common sense to pay attention to whats going on around them.

Tip for the noobs: As infantry, you're far inferior to a tank. Get out of its way.

4.
You're on Wake, oh god. The amount of retards I've played with on wake is unbelievable.

1.A full black hawk flies right down the middle because nobody spots it, caps the airfield and and then 4-5 players are sitll waiting for jets and choppers.
2. The rest of the players who didn't get in any air vehicles go and camp on either end of the island, allowing one small boat full of charlie caps a flag that isnt the airfield, yet the chinese are still camping at either end.
3. A single USMC guy makes it to the airfield, now this guys smart. He made a squad, but wait, why is nobody joining and spawning on him? The airfield is the most important flag for the chinese, without it they have no air support and 31 other players are still spawning on the carrier, getting artied and bombed to hell by the J10.

JOIN THE SQUAD AND SPAWN ON THE PLAYER AT THE AIRFIELD.

Tip for the noobs: If you see a full black hawk coming towards the island, dont shoot at it with your gun, SPOT THE THING so the jets/chopper and take it out. Take charge of the situation. It only takes common sense to win on Wake and that goes for both teams.

What really annoys me is how, thanks to someone else's stupidity and lack of awareness you've lost points. Now, like most people, you set out to get the most points, win the shiny pixel medal at the end and think to yourself, "yeah, thats me right there at the top". But if you're playing with a bunch of morons who run around like headless chickens, you're not going to get up there if you have this happening to you.

This wasn't meant to be such a lengthy post but I felt the need to get my message across because all of the above have happened to me and I'd like people to actually pay more attention and have a wider view of things instead of just 5 ft infront of them.

I didn't read any of this; it was too long.  Instead I will merely agree with all that you have said based on the first few sentences and the title.

No offence, but especially for that second one, but if you had been fully aware of your surroundings (i.e minimap) , that may not have happened, even though you are not intirely at fault.

Other than that agree 100%

Well said.
It will never cease to amaze me how many players completely ignore the minimap, the 3-d icons, and the chat/radio messages.

I spot an enemy tank, a full squad don't notice it and get slaughtered in 2 seconds. And obviously our chopper ignores it.

As commander drop a supply crate right behind a half-damaged tank, he runs away and get destroyed by a single antitank.

A friendly flag turns neutral, people 20 meters away go on with their business. Flag lost.

And so on.

If you want the real reason for this.

Its not lack of skill with the mouse and keyboard.

Its not lack of expirience with playing BF2.

Its not having a slow PC.

Its that about 90% of the worlds population are FUCKING IDIOTS.

haha good post

Another one:

UAV is showing a tank and apc at a flag. Random teammate tries to fly in driving a DPV paying no attention to his minimap, he drives right into the tank and dies. If he was careful he could have crept around the building, spotted the tank for possible bombing/tv missile, or waited until backup arrived.

AWARENESS

Your squad leader is being a douche when no flags are left. He's flying a jet oblivious to the fact that WE HAVE NO FLAGS. Or hes just in a loaded vehicle or something, whatever the case he wont let you spawn. I want to stab these guys in the skull with a spork.

Last one, the friendlies who spawn on the only flag your team just capped. Obviously your whole team is spawning here, but they like to grab the humvee and bolt by themselves. Who gives a shit about the 5 guys screaming "requesting pickup"

Then arty hits, everyone dies, jets drop bombs and more people die. TAKE SOME TEAMMATES WITH YOU WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO CAP A FLAG.

My "personal friends" are these I-am-invulnerable-to-arty-guys!

They hear the global voice, see a red warning on their mini map, get a personal warning when they are a squad leader, otherwise get a text warning "ARTY!" - and still run directly into it. After that, most of them start mutinity / kick vote.

No, I'm going to go ahead and say that its the choppers that need to watch the map when they cross the runway. The jets are out doing there job. Jets should watch for chopper over helipads, but shouldn't over runways. Example, You're taking off from the carrier on wake when all of a sudden the cobra pilot thinks its a good idea to land infront of you to repair. You have no time to hit the breaks and plough into him resulting in atleast 2 teamkills.

As for #3, I ran over atleast 4 of my squadmates when they spawned on me in thhe tank and got out last night

I mostly agree, but not entirely:

#1) Some players have "English Only" (or their primary language) turned on. If this is the case and you hear "Frag out!" you have no way of knowing who threw the frag (or where for that matter). And if you do not have that feature turned on and you are on the team that does not speak your language you don't know what the hell they are saying anyway. In the midst of a firefight I don't have the time to read every message that pops up.

#3) The driver of the armored vehicles is MORE responsible. You do have a mini-map you, you know. Shouldn't you be able to spot your teammates and see their direction of travel before you come barreling around the corner?

Um, do you know that when your team does not have any flags that you cannot spawn on the squad leader? Has nothing to do with him being in a vehicle. You cannot spawn anywhere if your team does not have at least 1 spawn.

as to the spawning in tanks and hopping otu- i tend to stay in the tan and provide a gunner for the tank. the SLs seem to appreciate it, as several times when i have been killed aswell as the SL, thye spwn a few seconds before me, and WAIT for me to spawn on them THEN together we go to the fighting.in other words- stay in the vehicle unless you have a good reason not to. the SL will appreeciate it.

I do agree to your statements.
One more thing that annoys me is that beginners don't know the difference between intentional TK, ie Shooing friendly pilot off the jet to get in, and unintentional TK, ie you throw a grenade and your stupid teammate goes and fetches it. They always punish no matter what happens and even if it they were the ones to blame. I do understand that sometimes, it is hard to distinguish accidental TKs but there are always noobs who have their fingers on the 'Page Down' button when they die, even if they die from an enemy bullet.
