On wake island, the machine gun/Anti-aircraft missile launcher on the marine carrier....can those be targeted by the J-10 and destroyed, much like how the IGLA launchers on the land can be shot at and destroyed?

No. But blow them up just to be safe
Yes. They get destroyed very quickly by a jet's vulcan cannon.

You can disable them for like 2 minutes or so, then they respawn, they have HP just like everything else. Vulcan Cannon works wonders on it, save you bombs for the crew on deck.

lol you should use the machine gun, you can use it at larger distances, if you shoot from a distance he has less time to lock/shoot you. and it's a waste of good bombs to drop them on a essex, the machine gun is much more effective on the essex then on infantry and the bombs are more effective on infantry than the machine gun. 1+1=2

I'll keep that in mind.
But, then again, I very rarely play servers whee planes/choppers can attack the uncap/carrier.
The answer to the question is "Yes", always take out AA with the jet's MGs, don't waste the bombs on them. Unless you can't hit them or the keep on persisting to try and get their AA badge, use bombs.
Or use the second AA gun, as 99% of the J-10 muppets don't even know there is a second antiair.LT.Victim wrote:

If by some miracle a teammate is actually IN the essex, run to the far one and you have a 99.9999% chance its empty. When both are manned, its so easy to rape those J10's. I dont see why people bitch about carrier raping, I welcome it and I dont even fly that well. The key is scanning the general direction that they'll be coming from, then the second you get lock start spamming MG, and when they get closer unload all your missiles. I have like a 60+% rate when a J10 is coming right for me guns flaring. When he's not expecting the essex to be manned I usually take them out, but sometimes they flare and you dont kill them, but at least you send them back to base so your teams aircraft can take off.
I've even faced a guy who got SOOO pissed at me for shooting him down everytime he strafed the carrier that he specifically started trying to go for the essex guns. Problem is that a good gunner WILL kill the pilot before the pilot kills him. Once he figured this out, he started comming in VERY low, and just before dying he launched MISSILES at me, so I died too. I can't figure out why, he got one kill, I got one. I'm pretty sure he could have found a better ratio elsewhere.... Pilots apparently HATE not being allowed to spawnrape the carrier !
