Now, after messing with video settings, BF2 and BF2 SF will not start.  I can double click and the BF2 logo appears then I get desktop.  Anyone have any idea how to reset all settings?

Delete your profiles from your PC. somewhere in "personal settings" (dont know the words in english) nd then retieve your profile with password...

In the readme it says to delete the
C:/My Documents/Battlefield2/profiles folder

This helped me when I 1st got BF2 and my Radeon 9200 wouldnt work. It's also what helped me when I just upgraded to a Radeon 850 xt today.

well if you delete whole profiles folder it erase also control settings etc. So if there's problems only with your video settings delete this file: C:/My Documents/Battlefield2/Profiles/0001/Video.con

Or if you have many profiles there also can be 0002, 0003 etc and if so you can just delete that Video.con from all of those folders and set your video settings up again after that.

i once had the same problem, had to delete the "My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache" folder; its the precomputed textures i believe.

worked fine after i readjusted settings, didnt need to delete the profile.
