Lets see here. I have a regular BF2, and the Deluxe Edition, I uninstalled the regular edition so i could get Special Forces on. (I had SF before, but a disk broke). the Deluxe edition comes with 1.3 embedded, and i want to play 1.12, so i uninstalled the Deluxe edition, put in the original disk, and now this happens.

I'm guessing the "deluxe" edityion and the standard edition dont mix when it comes to installs. Try removing all traces fo BF2 (including the registry), then install the version you'll be playing, and you should be fine.

I'd guess registry entries are at fault too so run Regedit and manually delete all mentions of BF2 before you intall it again.

You have to delete all the battlefield stuff from your registry.  Search the EA support site for installation issues, and which registry keys you should delete.

Your cd/dvd reader could be going bad.  That's how I was having issues installing BF2 on a laptop.

My friend had the same problem recently.  Uninstalled, cleared the registry, nothing worked.  He ended up deleting his profile in XP and creating a new one.  That fixed the problem.

Try uninstalling, then running Registry Mechanic. I'll PM you my Serial.

Does the disk look ok? Any scratches?

Maybe you could try installing from an image? Just download one from somewhere and use your original CD Key.
