Okay, so I play an hour or two earlier today, no problems, everything is in working order.  Then I quit.  I do nothing to my computer.  Then I go to play a hour later and the intro video plays, and I regularly press [esc] to skip past it, noting as usual the sounds of the intro video beginning.  Then the login screen appears, and I login.  I then quickly notice that there is no sound, so I restart my computer.  Start BF2 again, and same thing happens: I get no sound from BF2 after the into video.  BF2 still runs, but no sound.  I tried other applications/programs on my computer and got sound from them, so it's not my headset, but I have a hunch it might be my computer, or maybe (more specifically) either my nvidia driver or something to do with my sound card.  Or maybe it's simply BF2.  Any ideas as to why and/or how to fix this?  I'd greatly appriciate it!  If you need my computer specs, let me know what specific stats you need and I'll post them. Again, Thanks!

p.s.  Been a frequent visitor to this site/forum but up until today I haven't joined.  I look forward to taking part in all the excitement that I have followed in the past months.

Is your Music Setting in your Options set to 100%, or the volume you want it it?

and there is no sound from that movie, just music that plays...

chek out your audio configuration in the game, if everything is normal and the sound is not working, just re-install your game and re-patch it will work

Okay, I'll try this out.... and in response to LT.Victim, my sound settings are "on", aka where I like them (100%, 33%, 100%) so it's not that.

Oh, you mean when you go in-game?

I've had that happen a few times, just restarted my computer, and it worked fine..

Okay, so last night I spent at LEAST 2 hours reinstalling all of Battlefield 2 (Vanilla, SF, EU Force, Armr. Fury) and re-installed patch 1.4, and restarted computer.  I still had the same issue: I would get sound from the Battlefield for the intro stuff, but the second the login screen appeared, everything afterwards, including the login screen had no sound.  I checked the sound levels in the options menu, those were okay.  So I re-downloaded and then re-installed patch 1.4, restarted my computer, and STILL, I have the same sound issue!!!  Any advice from anyone as to what the heck is wrong with BF2 or my computer?  I have noticed that sometimes before a sound is playing (via something other than BF2) i.e. the audio for a video on youTube, that sometimes there is a very quick static click of some sort... but I still get sound for everything else except for BF2!  What the heck?!?!

Also, when I uninstalled the game, I didn't uninstall screenshots or player profiles... does it really matter?  Either way, I would love to get some sound back from BF2 as I am a user of VOIP.

Okay, maybe a summarization of what's wrong is in order:
I've reinstalled, redownloaded, restarted, and still, no sound eminates from BF2 after the intro video.  Any suggestions?

I had the same problem like you some minutes ago.
Just look for your bf2-soundsettings, in the upper left corner
you can choose your soundmode (hardware, software...).
If it shows you something like AUDIO_CONFIG* or similar
just set it back to your previous (i guess hardware)
and the sound will work again.
