1) Dont go on the demo and expect teamworking mad l337zors, you mean you did not expect noobs on a DEMO?!

2) Fix your internet connection, mine is smooth as butter. (And Im on a 1mb connection)

3) Learn to fly

4) Learn where APC spawns, also look on your map (M)

PS: Where is the "fun as hell" option in the poll?

They are trying to lure players away from BF2 to play 2142. Every time you log into BF2 the first thing you see is a 2142 advertisement. 2142 uses the same engine. I think it's fair to compare the two. BF2 is better.

I wasnt so keen on it at first. but it has grown on me in a way. The attack chopper kicks ass, flys so much better than the apaches etc in BF2. The only thing that puts me off is the running is fucked up imo.

Also the guns dont feel as powerful. You coul dbe shooting at someone with a full round and they wouldnt die, then theyd kill you with half a clip. (No i can aim fuckface...)

Other than that i think it will be a kick ass game!

I expected a pretty good debate since this seemed like a topic that would draw people out, but this is definitely more than I was expecting.

For starters, I think that comparing the two games is definitely possible. They're obviously made with the same engine by the same developer and published by the same company. Yes, there are differences. I'm not going to say that the storyline is "worse" because you can't really compare that (and besides, I think that the storyline is very cool).

And just because it's a demo doesn't make everyone a noob. I got killed by one of those robot thingies yesterday. That's an unlock isn't it? So there are people that are already getting promoted. And you would think that people would at least watch the intro to understand how Titan mode works. Instead, when the shield is down, most of my team just keeps joy riding around on the ground, leaving the rest of my team typing "GET ON THE [bleeping] TITAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" which is just as annoying.

And there are things I like about it compared to BF2. I like that you can spawn in the transport chopper (who else remembers that from 1942?). I really liked the Titan mode.

I know that this is just a demo and it's in the early stages, but a demo did the exact opposite of what it's supposed to do...I really wanted the game until I played it. Now I'm definitely not buying it anytime soon. I'll keep giving the demo a try, but until I have better experiences with it, I won't be shelling out $50 for a game that seems an awful lot like a mod for BF2 instead of an entirely different game (has anyone else thought that?).

wait until BF2142 comes out, read the reviews, and talk to the community. if the reviews suck and the community says the same thing, then by all means, bash 2142 into the stone age.

some bashers just hate battlefield games period. if bf2 did not have the problems that it has now, there will still be bashers there.

im waiting for you morons to buy the damn game then tell me whether the game is worth the cash.

I played a few rounds of 2142 and at the beginning I didnt like it but the more I play, the more I like it. But I dont think Ill really like the full game and I am not sure to buy it. Everything is nerfed, everything is slow, weak. Plus, aircrafts are too easy to fly. I think Dice wanted the game to be more easy for everyone, especially the casual gamers, its cool when you start but when you have played 25 hours and you know everything and master the game, its dispointing. The element that will keep us playing is the unlocks and ranks.

Seriously it's WAY more fun that old BF2. :3 Gonna buy it once it hit the stores so I can keep whoring my Railgun Turret. :3 No one seems to be able to kill while I'm in them unless they spawned in the area and start to anoy me.

Not the best but I still owned with the KD score. I had Snipers/Tanks/Mechs/APCs/Buggies againts me and only few actually killed me. I was also in the enemies spawn area with the RailgunTurret to. People need to realise how powerfull it really is.

The game is ok so far. The thing that gets me is why did EA make the "latency" indicator a stupid coloured box. I want my latency in 'ms', like in BF2. That is much more useful.

I hope they dont have this same thing as the final version, but i didnt think it was horrible. Maybe after some unlocks, it could be pretty sweet. Like the riviving thing, what ever it is in the future, A good gun, and a light saber (jk). I think titan is pretty tight though.

Your a noob for complaining too much about a demo that was just released. Maybe it's not everyone else that sucks ass at playing, maybe its you.

The first time I played BF2, with bots even, I had fun.

The first time I played 2142, I wanted to kill myself after 39 minutes because of the shitty assault rifle. pistol, and handling in nearly every vehicle. Later I thought I should give it another chance, played it for ten minutes, remembered why it sucked, and stopped playing again.

I tried it today, and after the initial 10 seconds of horrible, all consuming lag (I had it on BF2 aswell v.v) it was great, it wasn't much to look at (due to all on low <_<) but it played well and I got 1 dog tags on my first go =p

I'm getting it when it comes out, I don't care what people say...

Im dissappointed. Its a bad game and im already better than EVERYONE at it. My first round i had more kills than my team had points. ONWNED. So im gona play phantasy star universe. ITs > than 2142 and its not all about skill, cause if it was id be the best at it and get bored.

i just played 5 differnet servers, with NO lag, and the apcs are all over i dont know how you couldnt fine them, and i havnt seen any spawn raping on the plane spawns, and infact noone tk's you for a vehcile, i could easily get a tank or apc or air tranposrt whenever i desired, good demo imo sorry you had such a bad time in it...

If you go into the advanced section of the multiplayer browser, they have numbers there.

Personally I am immensely disappointed with the demo, don't get me wrong I love the idea of 2142, and I hope the retail is better. But if EA are trying to showcase their new best seller then they have failed, no unlocks (which are by far the most important part of the game imo) a near useless map and constant disconnections (which have admittedly got better recently). In all essence they've failed, the idea of a demo is to show your prospective audience exactly how the finished game will be, just on a limited scale, and in this EA have well and truly failed.

And 2142 seems more tactical and squad based too, instead of going around in an apc spawn raping a point all day players will squad up, and work together, i have rarley seen this in BF2 and ive seen this every game so far in 2142.
