Actually that's happened, many times, and often doesn't result in the aircraft being downed. Needless to say it doesn't usually go well for the guy under the parachute.

Of course I'm not talking about fighter jets flying at near Mach 1

I killed someone for the first time that way the other week. Got punished for it too... some people

Some poor guy killed me with his a few days back, apologised profusely for it. He'd never heard of it happening before that time.
