They don't have any attitude or statements to make. It is a marketable fashion. Instead of dressing in chill clothing, they buy the opposite kind, but it is still a fashion trend. Sort of to be "part of the click".
I view them as goths without guts or attitude.
And the music? All the bands sound just like the other ones, and they seemed to have jumped on the new trend too. Fast money for the kids who buys that.
I've seen a few Emo bands opening for other acts and we were all like "wtf is that" Is it supposed to be good or get to you or even stimulate you to a point? Nope not at all.

I mean, glam metal was hot in 1987 and it died. Grunge had all their Nirvana copycats after Kurt went away.
And if you bet 20$ with an Emo that he'll kill himself, either you break even or get 20$ richer! Music is supposed to move you, not depress you.
