I have been trying to reformat my C drive for the past few weeks. Then my friend reformats his and I was like, "wtf dude, how do you do it?!"

Well, he tells me and I thought, "Has it been this simple teh whole time?"

NO!

I have come across some BULLSHIT windows stuff here lately and I kinda feel like switching to another OS, this is gay as shit, I still cant install windows update, or IE7, or anything Windows/Microsoft related. OMG! Very gay.

I have come here to help, Windows XP Home Edition CD WILL NOT reformat. That was the answer I got on BF2s a while ago on how to reformat. No, this afformentioned CD does NOT reformat... and if it didnt cost 100$ I would burn it, then dance around it like a mad cannible after they captured some missionary in africa.

So, here are some screens on my problem, if someone can fix this(I HOPE someone can. I will do anything they want. ANYTHING! Suck an E-dick, e-sex, ANYTHING.

I have tried everything. :(

Here are the screens:

PLEASE HELP!! The problem is with teh second one. What do i do?

Stick the disc in. Reboot. Press a key to boot from the CD when it says. Windows installer will load. When you get to the disc partition screen, delete your C: drive main partition. Remake it. Install.

Not hard.

Boot from the installer cd, delete the partition, create new partion and install. At least that's how I do .

Edit:.. I just saw Viper posted ahead of me.. same stuff .

If he doesn't return in 10 minutes I've sorted it, if not then it's out of my depth.

I think it was a problem with the boot device priority, but we'll see.

Yes, your disc drives need to have a higher boot priority than your hard drive.

Then that was the problem as I suspected and it's sorted.

Although I'd leave this open just in case.

Don't forget to BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST!  And make sure you have ALL the motherboard, video, LAN, sound etc drivers on hand BEFORE proceeding with this.  You *will* lose all your data as part of this process.

I usually open up my drives and take some nice FINE sandpaper, remember to use very fine sand paper and lightly go over the platter surface.

Not only does it provide a better than low level format, but the light scratches will help your data "stick" better, and less chance of data corruption in the future.

.

If you took this seriously, please give your PC to goodwill.
