What was your worst holiday destination?

Mine was a school skiing trip to Romania shortly after the fall of communism (~1993). Why?

a) Ireland was pretty impoverished back in the bad old days and as such I had extremely limited funds.
b) I developed a chest infection whilst there: which I worsened considerably by skiing away despite it. In the end it became painful to breathe.
c) Food/drink was diabolical. To get a loaf you had to queue for 2 hours. Milk was powdered only. I heard the hotel staff strangle a particular evenings dinner upon waking one morning. Another day we had bear - ever tried chewing a ball of rubber bands: similar. I lost a considerable amount of weight over just one week...
d) For some reason there were people in one particular nightclub brandishing guns (they weren't security personnel either!).
e) The town we went to was a complete dump iwth little or no redeeming features (actually it was pretty close to Dracula's castle but I didn't have the funds to take a trip to see it).
f) It was a cheapo late holiday and we were pretty much skiing on what was essentially ice for a lot of it.
g) Developed constipation which finally came to a head in the airport when leaving. I spent takeoff in the airplane toilet, much to the dismay of the stewardesses.
h) Communism may have ended but communist immigration bureaucracy sadly hadn't.

I have been lucky enough not to holiday in any bad places (YET), but can i mention a bad holiday experience?

Went to Portugal a few years back with my friend and his family. His sisters boyfriend was also there with us. One day we went to a Golf course and hired two of the golf carts. I was driving one and my friend the other (we were about 15/16 at this time). We set off from the first drive to go to the green. We both steped on the pedal and had a wee race, but as we were going round this bend with a slight drop down a slop, i managed to stear the cart over the edge! The sisters boyfriend fell out and the cart landed on top of his and took a big chunk out of his leg.

THIS WAS ON THE FIRST HOLE!

the rest of my day was spent keeping my head down, and sitting in the back of the cart. I was felt soo bad about it.

I am on holiday and I will make the best out of my situation, so I have never had a bad holiday cos I will not let it be a bad holiday.
I suppose my worst has to be Teneriffe because there was no rock club (that's as bad as it gets) but fuck it I became a full on dance nut for 2 weeks (I hate Dance by the way)
Even though now I'm getting older there may be a few bad ones due, as I slowly turn into a pessamistic, gumpy old twat

Never thought golf was such a rough sport. I don't really have a worst holiday, only sucky thing that ever happened to me on holiday was one of our trips to Spain (can't remember the town's name). We were at this medieval spectacle and had just eaten (chicken if I remember correctly), everybody was focussed on the show and was cheering and all of a sudden the guy next to me started vomiting on my plate which I had shoved slightly to my right. Most of the vomit managed to stay on the plate, although some of it managed to find its way to my shorts and T-shirt. I was fighting a fierce battle with myself not to mimic my neighbour (I gag and vomit easily). That's pretty much the worst that happened to me. Well, that and being rejected by a girl after I declared my undying love for her on the school trip to Barcelona, but let's not go into details about that...

My worst (really don't have any) would probably just be a class trip to belgium, just the hotel we stayed in was a dump (ok, right next to one) and the keys often worked on several different doors :S

There's a positive side to that. When you're drunk and have difficulty locating the door to your room you won't have to waste any time trying to match the door to the key.

tijuana, mexico. really that all that should be said. i went down with some friends for a weekend. we ending up getting arrested our first night. had to bribe the cop so as not to go to jail. we decided the second night to keep it low key, and ended up pissing off some locals who quickly brandished firearms. we took off late that night back for the border. on top of all this my buddy had a sandwhich with lettuce that was washed in that dirty water so we had to stop like five times on the way back for him to hop out on the side of the road and take a dump. upon reachintg the border we were searched coming back through and that took for ever. all in all just a horrible experience, that part of mexico sucks.

Tijuana is the shit.  My friend who is now in prison for something, anyway while in the Marines we snuck down to Tijuana and visited this strip club, now this particular strip club boasts about a woman that can pick up a quarter with her bearded clam (not sure what that is? WIKI). So *Name deleted*, reached into his pocket pulled out a quarter, took a lighter to it and proceeded to heat said quarter. He placed the quarter onto the stage for the stripper to pick up.  You can figure out what happened next.

Worst holiday yet was being in Phuket during the tsunami, nothing happened to me or the people who where with me, but to see all the injured and dead locals and tourist wasn't as I imagined my holiday's.

1. Getting arrested and spending 4 days in a Federal Jail in Mexico
2. My Jetski ran out of fuel about 10 miles above Laughlin, NV. I drifted downriver for about 7 hours

Haven't had any particularly bad ones, but when I went to Paris this summer Air France managed to lose track of our luggage. Spent 5 days in the same clothes till they found our luggage and took it to us. The worst was that it was a different story each time we called.

"We don't know where it is"

Probably was at fucking Charles de Gaulle the whole time =/
