BF2S Forums Recommend me some wireless headphones(lets start with SONY MDR-DS6000)

I do not want any headset. Just headphones

The Sony is just fine. you MAY need to get a jack->mini-jack (or whatever it's called) plug to fit it in your PC's stereo port though. As I recall a lot of Sonys headphones comes with the large plug that's standard for good audio equipment, but isn't generally used for PCs. This is not a huge price diff though. A plug will run you like $5.
You SHOULD however be aware that using wireless headphones give you a couple of problems (particularly annoying for PC's and gaming:
1) You run the risk of running our of battery ! Recharging while gaming IS a problem
2) The transmitter takes up space SOMEWHERE near your PC. It's not easily hidden behind the Tuner or CD player.
3) The headphones are running on the 2.4 GHz frequency, this is used by a LOT of applications. You may get loads of interference.

Well, your phone will usually be a problem if you keep it too close to your equipment. But this largely depends on the band you're using. the GSM 900 and 1800 bands are particularly "noisy". NMT is better, but signal quality sucks with NMT. But you're in California, so I'm assuming you're using the 850 or 1900 band ? Maybe you have a 3G phone on the 2500 band ?
Well, in either case you're going to have some issues when the phone rings, or when it connects to or updates from the nearest cell tower. This is usually just a couple of seconds, then the noise will "fade". But you can avoid this by simply keeping your cell phone at least 2 meters from your PC or headphones (and NOT in the direct line between your headphones and the transmitter, ofcourse)

The logitech mouse. Not an issue, this supports several frequencies (well, two), so you can change the frequency of the mouse if it's giving you a hard time.

But you also need to be aware of stuff like:
DAB radios, microwave ovens, HAM radios, cordless phones, intercoms, wireless internet connections, wireless TV signal transmiters, doorbells, baby monitors/nanny cams, walkie talkies (especially if you live in a house with children), remote controlled cars or other toys and devices. If you have some sort of Intelligent House Control, that can sometimes be wireless aswell, often on the 2.4 Ghz protocol so save some dough. You're pretty much only safe from a TV remote because it runs on infra red ! Shit I've even seen a COFFEMAKER run on the 2.4 Ghz band, DONT ask what you need a remote to your coffemaker for (!)

Generally the 2.4 GHz band is used a lot, but manufacturers tend to use slightly different frequencies, so if you just keep the stuff far enough apart, then it's rarely a problem. But in a modern household there's TONNES of stuff running on the same band, so seperation can be difficult. Forking out an extra $30-40 for a set with a specifically purchased bandwidth can be worth it sometimes. Or if you know how, go buy some new crystals if you're having problems, and exchange the ones in your headphones and transmitter at a later date.

So offhand, I'd say, take a look around the house from wher eyou're sitting now, and if you can't see more than
2-3 wireless devices, then you're safe.
4-6... Meh... You may have intermittent problems.
7+ You should already HAVE problems.

I only see two things. Cell phone and wireless mouse (which doesn't seem to be the problem looking at your reply). I use a tri-band mode on my cell phone so I am not exactly sure which signal I am getting from my T-Mobile service (I travel a lot, especially to Asia and they use different frequency over there). So I guess there wouldn't be too much trouble. Also it might be funny that whenever I get some bad interference, I could just assume that someone is calling me (LoL).

BTW what are these Crystals that you are talking about?

Thank you for your explanation.
However, as you know I wanted some advice on the wireless devices. I would have had not much of a problem or questions to ask if I was searching for the wired devices.
I am a big fan of Logitech when it comes to mouse and I had some good experiences with the USB micro phone that they offered back in the days. I just am not sure about the headsets. Anyway, the ones that I see, even the one on the picture that you have loaded, are wired headsets.

I am not exactly too keen on getting the wireless. What I wanted to do is to see whether the wireless headphones had some good in them since being able to be from the limitations that the cord can bring to me when moving around and sometimes be disturbing to have a cord dangling off the side of my face.

I currently do have a wired headphones and was trying to explore the new world of wireless headphone. Never had extensive experience before so wanted to try one now. Thats my explanation.

Good stuff. I've never had a problem with my corded headset though, it plugs into a USB hub on the front of my case and i drape it over my leg to take up the slack. I can move all around my bedroom with the headset on, to open/close my door, get bits off my shelf etc.
and a decent surround-sound wireless headset will take up a helluva lot of desk space for the cradle/charger
