You see it in movies, but it is another thing for someone to do something like that in real life. The true mark of a hero.

deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor.  or would it be the Navy Cross?

if he did youd probably be reading about more than one dead SEAL.  3-5 second fuse...isnt.

What a soldier. There were few that did that and survived during the WW2. 6 soldiers I think. Was an article of the day on wikipedia once.

You really don't time to pick it up and throw it away. It only has a 4 to 5 sec fuse.  In all that time some rag head pulled the pin and threw it, and it was thrown on to the rooftop where it hit the Seal in the chest and then rolled on the roof top.  You really don't have much time. And if he would have tried to thrown it and failed to get it over the edge or far away in time, he would have just made a huge blast area and that alone would have killed all four of the seals on the Roof top. IMO

And I have been to Iraq, and it sucks. But I also had the best time of my life when I was there.

If he picked it up theyd all be dead, those thing last no longer than 5seconds, and considering they were in a building, it would take at least 2 seconds for it to get to its spot, then 3 in it, tell me, could a person think within 3 seconds to pick up a live grenade , and throw it back outside? no.

Deserves a Medal of Honor

• Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit

• Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates

• Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation

With out a doubt his Fellow SEAL Team mates would have done the same in a instant.

I wonder how many of us would have given our lives, so the rest of our Marines, Seamen, Airmen, or Soldiers can finish the mission

Pretty incredible to not only have the state of mind to realize what it is, but also to track it and smother it for his team.  The world is undoubtedly short one more hero.
