Good question. I've used and experienced firsthand on the receiving end what aimbots are like in UT, so I have a good idea what they can be like, and in BF2 I snipe all the time and one of the primary roles of snipers is to counter the enemy snipers meaning I face other snipers a lot. I think I have a better-than-average idea of what's okay, good and amazing shooting, and what's possible.

Plus, since we now know that there are working aimbots out there it's highly unlikely that you never encounter one.

And one time I know for sure. I called the guy on his insane accuracy with the SVD (Warlord, 120m+ headshot on someone not silhouetted against the sky, one of about five kills in quick succession and we weren't hearing that distinctive crack crack crack crack crack sound for each kill, it was one shot per target) and I was right since he was kicked right after, when the admin checked a PB screenshot

I checked the map editor for BF2, there isnt any chinese urban maps because there are only about 10 different chinese buildings. A chinese urban map would be a déjà vu from hell

well there is a map that involves the type 88 in close range.... but even then bolt actions outperforms it

m95 is the best on city maps cos quite frankly if you miss even with an m95 at a target with 100-150meters then you shouldnt play sniper. (hell even whatch nytes vids to see why)

ipoon.be you said earlier that the time taken to fire say an m95 then switch to pistol is long enough to get 2/3 shots form an svd thats still more shots required to kill a target considering the m95 brings all units down to 2 bars of health

Svd is not better or worser then M24 . Just different... better to deal with troops , harder to deal with enemy snipers . If you master it , it may be even better then bolt actions , but it drops your accuracy b\c of long shots that sometimes doesnt hit target even if aim is 100% .

For me , svd is the best . Beeing USMC I pick it up over any other sniper rifle or assault rifle , if I want to snipe with it . 2\3 of my sniper kills come with SVD ( 1\3 - L96A1\M24 & very-very little from Type-88 - I helowhore on china maps )

So If you are able to make headshots with SVD at range > 100m - then it is better in your hands then M24 .

But you have an advantage if zoom and accuracy. I cant imagine you sniping with the pistol at 200m+ especially if the target is running. And imagine missing all your shots, thats even more time wasted switching back to the rifle. Less chance of that happening with a semi auto.

Anyway, you decide how many shots you can get off in that time with the SVD, theres no fixed waiting period.
