In the interest of realism not gore.  Some games have a password to be able to turn blood and gore on and off to keep little kids from being exposed.  When someone gets blown up their whole body doesn't necessarily go all in the same direction. The limbs etc in BF2 are too securely attached.  Sniper head shots should make pieces of head go flying. C4 should partially vaporize and blow pieces all over.  Blood is not really that necessary.  I would like to see a little more realism in the physics.  Just like the vehicles come apart, the bodies should come apart. Has anyone ever seen Saving Private Ryan?  The impact of how real they portrayed it is one of the things that made it so riveting.   More functional building parts would really be cool.  Doors, hatches, etc. I know everything extra takes extra programming.  Thats what I look forward to in the future.

Not Just make it like this, killed by bullets --> Revive
Killed by explosion --> No revive, instant death --> with the exception for grenades SPLASH damage, so when one explodes like 1 feet infront of you, well start choosing your next kit

What about on FF off servers?  Like, if I'm waiting for my chopper/jet to respawn in the main base I like to put down 3-4 bricks fo c4 and rocket myself into the air and parachute back down...just to waste time.  If all of my limbs go flying off, would they each have their own parachute?  Would I then have to roll around to collect my arms/legs/head, etc.?  I like the rag doll physics just fine. Besides, I'm usually too busy trying not to die so I wouldn't really have time to watch someone's limbs go flying anyway.  I do wish you could turn the blood on.  About the only thing more satisfying than seeing the brown mist of a successful headshot would, of course, be red mist.

Good thread though...maybe patch 1.62 will have blood....baaahahahahahaha....like there will ever be another patch for this game.    Oh well.

ragdoll physics is the best idea ever invented for video game graphics, i have so much fun in HL2, with the sniper (hot rod cannon is what i call it) i love plaster arms against walls

Why not combine the best of both. Rag doll and past a certain point or intensity of death limb separation.  I really like the rag doll effect too,  but at some point the rag doll should get tore up like my dog does to his chew toy.

Yea there is a time limit to collect all the parts and bring them all over to one spot to revive.

I like ragdoll physics, it's fun just watching the body fly away from an explosian, I don't want to see bits of body fly around. My favorite is watching the body fly away from a tank shell.

Yes, everyone wants to see their squad leader's head get blown off and, using shock paddles, magically preform a brain transplant while restructuring his skull.  The only way I would be OK with this is if they removed reviving, which is a stupid idea to begin with.

This has been done before, to appeal to the 'most' people, the gore is practically non existent, lower rating = more people can buy = MORE MONEY.

Except gta its the gore that sells that game lmao

No thank you. If I wanted body parts, I'd play UT. Blood would be ok as long as it wasn't at UT exaggerated levels.

if they really wanted to sell products, they'd throw lesbian sex ads all over the place, and make the character models naked women. and there would be no bullets. just dildos.

if you haven't figured it out: fuck sales. we want gore.

I'd rather see changes made to the internal workings...

...This sounds like a waste of resources, though it'd be nice.

I long for the day were you pull off a sweet head shot and the guys head snaps back and part of his head is gone or theres a bullet hole in his forehead. dont need much blood but it be so awsome.

Yes, that's exactly what  we need. Some idiot driving around in a Vodnik with a medic bag for a head.

Sure, gibs n' all would be kinda cool, but only for like the first week. then you've seen every death possiable and pay no more attention. What you need is something that actually changes gameplay rather than just use up your computers' memory - for example being able to take a tank in sharqui and blowing half the tv tower apart, or level the construction site, or even blow over the fucking crane. Now that would be fun.

Course, all forgetting the 1 major problem here... specs. Wait for the Physx cards to begin not slowing computers down, wait for ATI's version to get kick ass, and then wait for the 2000mhz gfx cards to be released, put them in crossfire, get 4gig of ram and then see if the computer can handle those kinda effects. 64 players with bits of head flying around? Laggggggggggg
