I think he's stupid. I've heard you can get something cheaper that'll run better.
his limit is 2800 USD. Any suggestions?

The alienware he's looking at has 4GB of ram...Which pisses me off, but good for him. How much would it be to get one that has 4gb, CNcyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

psp- prices of those few parts will maybe end in around 2000 dollars.
4GB of ddr2 800mhz ram is proxy 440 usd. Get G.skill ones, they are the best.PspRpg-7 wrote:

Why a GX2? DX10 comes out in like next month. 4 Gigs of ram is 440, Cpu is around 530 now, monitor you should get a 300 dollar one, oh and an XFi.Paco_the_Insane wrote:
a rough list
I think a Core 2 duo E6700, 4 gigs ram, NVIDIA GeForce 7950X2, A decent mobo, maybe 400 gig hd, CD + DVD-R drive, G5 mouse, G15 keyboard, a headset, a nice case, a sweet monitor, and probably a 700w PSU. No Idea how much it would be, seeing as i dont name certain parts, but the CPU is 550 or so, and the GPU is about the same. 4 gigs of ram might be about 500, mobo 200, HD 100, 50 CD Drive, 100 mouse + keyboard, 150 case + PSU, 30 Headset, 500 monitor = 2700 give or take.
just a rough list off the top of my head.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Only 3 will show the rest will be dedicated to virtual memory so tell him not to freak. XP 64 will take better advantage the 32 as well as vista.PspRpg-7 wrote:

I don't want to be the first in that catagory... Have you heard the prices and the power needs? There is still some uncertainty about the mobo compatibility.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

People fail to realize sometimes price is not the only thing to consider. Not everyone wants to be their own support dept when shit hits the fan on a 3k machine.PspRpg-7 wrote:
After talking to him, and showing him the thread. He said he was too computer-hardware illiterate to build his own computer. I assume he doesn't wanna have someone else build it for him...And he said the big plus is that he only has to pay 58 bucks a month for it, instead of paying 2800$
Thanks for your help anyways.
