I think antitank should give damage assistance points always.
When I shoot with antitank an APC the first time I make some kind of damage, but, If another guy shoots and a 3rd guy kill the APC, the killing points are por the third guy without any points of damage assistance for me.

And so every other idiot who throws a nade at the tank gets the damage assistance points too? I admit to have thrown a grenade at a tank capping the flag out of pure frustration, and i've seen n00b-tubers shoot the tube at armor. Why should they get points for that?

how about if your damage from one hit, is of a certain value/ percentage?

eg. 1. hit from 1 anti-tank/ TOW = 'x' amount of damage (qualifies for kill assist if tank/ APC is subsequently destroyed)
     2. hit from grenade/ noob tube = 'y' amount of damage (gives you jack shit)

it has happened so many times to me too when i hit a tank with an anti tank round and not get any kill assist for it. but then again, its just a thought not a gripe.

I like this idea, but I believe it would be more suiting if the damage % determined both kill and assists, example:

AT rocket hits an APC - APC is at near half health
AT rocket hits an APC again - APC is at near zero health and ON FIRE
M203 grenade hits APC - APC blows up

In this case the AT guy who obviously spent more time and did more damage to the APC would get the kill, while the M203 guy gets the assist. I suppose this could be argued against because you didn't actually get the kill, but you did more work for it and sucessfully did more damage.

i feel whoever got the last shot in gets the kill, think its less confusing that way.
if whoever did the most damage gets the kill it would open a whole new can of worms.
i just think if any change to this should be made (doesn't really matter i guess, its up to EA/ Dice, whatever), the kill assist issue could be addressed. not a critical fault in the game, just would be nice, thats all.

it already does work like that.

if you do at least 50% damage to a vehicle then you get a kill damage assist.

but like i said this is a game, so either live with it or hope maybe an adjustment is made in the next patch.

on a side note, if another improvement could be made, its that helis and jets should be able to be taken out by a single tank cannon shot. it takes a certain amount of skill to lead a flying target and gives a little something back against the air units and a little more balance.

but on the whole BF2 is fine the way it is.

And on that note:
Since you can't do any stealthy sneaky type stuff to tank drivers (GUNNERS are SITING DUCKS

When the tank is signifantly damaged I think a hand grenade or grenade-launcher should be able to contribute further damage, for god's sake man bumps/hills do damage to a tank in BF2, take that crap out instead.
