My game will not let me unlock new weapons will someone please tell me how to unlock them. i have already reached my first rank something is wrong i think?

i have already ranked up once but it didnt give me my unlocks. i only got my first rank but no unlocks

You need to be a lance corpal to get an unlock

its my friends actually and he just got his first rank neither of us can understand why it wont give him the unlocks
