I had problems with my veteran badge, too. But I found a completly "new" way, wich is quite easy:
Take Strike at Karkand as MEC and take Sniper, and now lay Claymores, on every corner, where ure m8tes wont run.
Also you can run behind an enemy, lay a Claymore, then shoot one shot of a pistol on him. Now run away and when he follows you, he'll have a little problem.
Takes some practice and good nerves (but I had a KD ratio of 2 doing this!) and it works perfect!!!!
