BF2S Forums In the line of fire (Silo Friendly Fire)

If you place your Titan in the way of a missile and it dosnt have room to move then it will hit you. For example parking the titan over a silo will cause the missile to launch and not have enough time to change course meaning it hits you causing you damage. To that effect if the enemy titan attempts to stick close to the edges it is possible to sneek your titan behind it so that any incomming missiles have a 'chance' of hitting the enemy titan regardless of who owns the silos.

All that means that there are, as always, pros and cons to placing the titan in the combat zone. Its can provide support but it will take less time for the misiles to reach it and, if your commanders stupid, there is the danger of them being placed foolishly therefore putting the titan in more danger.

But its my opinion that Titans should be in the combat zone if used wisely as they can effectivly hold silos themselves using the cannons. Plus their AA forces enemy air assets to watch how they fly. Though Titans should if wanting to be fuly effective be fully manned in every gunner position.

its a Tip whe nu load the screen that tells u not to do it. I remeber i 1ce saw a Silo missloe spin in sircles for 2 mins around and around just whe n iget the beta, i had no idea what they were supsoe to do at 1st but it was a cool bug :p

Yes, I *think* I've read this exact topic in one of the gametips,like tyler said (to the extend of: never park your titan directly above a silo or you will get hurt). I've seen it happen too, particularly with the middle silo.
