Alyx will be a playable character in Half-Life 3?
GamesRadar is reporting that during a recent press briefing at Valve HQ, Gabe Newell revealed that they are planning to develop Half-Life 3 with Half-Life 2 female NPC Alyx as a playable character. Well, I guess we will see the first details at E3 2005, or, in the worst case, we will have to wait another 5 years and maybe another 30 September release date.

It was half life 2 episode one where you can play as her. It would make since that you can play her in half life 3 because of what happend to her father though.

The Episodes are Half Life 3. They also involve the G-Man. Half Life 1 was where G-Man made Gordon. Half Life 2 was where he used him. And the Episodes are where he loses control of him as noticed in the beginning of Episode 1.

As for counter strike for hte most part it wont really change just like it hasnt the past 5 years.

by what i remember, in a couple of months, half-life 2: episode 2 is going to be released. sounds more of a rumor or "myth", just like the so called "half life movie"

On the contrary. They just introduced the beta of their stupid dynamic pricing system, which causes the most used guns to be more expensive, least used are cheaper. It's terrible. It caused me to make this:

With any luck, they'll dismiss this idea and never speak of it again. Valve seems to think, "Hey! Let's take what works and f**k it up! That'll attract more players!"

looks like I'll be using the mp5 more or the (h&K think that is what it is called.) I like the idea with bounty's though. I've seen some servers use that.

No. This won't happen. Valve is not stupid enough to ruin their so far perfect story by making you play as Alyx.

2. Release too much storyline at once

Episodes one, two and three are all counted as "Half-Life 3". The rumour that Alyx will be a playable character has been around for ages, but I highly doubt it. What would be the point of playing as Gordon all that time, (the silent protagonist,) and then switch to a speaking character... it just dosn't make sence to go with the storyline. In Half-Life, you ARE Gordon, it's more a cinematic experiance than a game.

heh, I'm not intersted in HL anymore, HL2 was fun but got boring after a while. Didn't want to finish the game.

Since Half Life three was not mentioned at E3 2005, I guess the rumors are lies.

Ravenholm is pretty creepy.

The game IS linear, it is a story. A fucking excellent story. It has a plot! Most films these days don't even have that!
Although if superb storytelling and adventure isn't your bag, then meh...

Yes, yes it is. But I think the underground garage level in episode 1 is creepier.
