Well, for some reason, both BF2 and the BF2142 demo are acting weird for me. One day I turn
on my BF2, and it displays strangely.

The game works fine, but the actual view of the game..well, it's like a little box inside of my monitor instead of being full screen...

I tried taking a screenshot, but it didn't work, so I used paint to kind of simulate what it looks like.

I have just updated DirectX and my Drivers for my Radeon 9800 pro, which has done nothing so far.

MS paint screenshot:

It's just a screen of black that I can't go over with my cursor on the edges, that for some reason shrinks the game window...I have no clue why this is happening..

Log in and change your resolution?

Is it really a problem with the resolution? The game has always worked well for me with this resolution, I do not understand why all of the sudden it shrinks the window, and why I can't move my cursor outside of the little window..

Well that's your problem. You're using 2142.

Thanks for the unhelpful post not telling me anything about my BF2 problem. <3

Anyway, I'm gonna try downloading a bunch of other drivers...

Hm, I think I see an issue...I have just tried to turn my DESKTOP, not the GAME to 1024X960 or 1024X768, and it does the same thing! Is something wrong with my video card?

k....other games run fine, right?

try going into my documents>battlefield 2>Profiles
and then delete your profiles (or just cut them to a different location)

then, just retrieve ur online accounts

I can see how that might work for another BF2 problem, but I can't see how that would effect my desktop, because it has the same problem..

Okay, this never happend to me, however my only advice is to run Dxdiag

if your unsure how to do so just open your START menu, go to RUN, type in DXDIAG

you dont have to do all the tests, but rather try 'Test Direct Draw' and 'Test Direct3D'

also, if you updated your drivers and these problems appeared, I suggest rolling your drivers back to the ones to where they worked, or system restore.

thats all the advice I got, hope ya figure it out

If you are using an LCD, the problem is that your video card drivers are not scaling the image.  If you have nvidia drivers,  go into the nvidia control panel, select display, then choose "change flat panel scaling."  there you can change how the display is scaled.  Hope this helps.
