In need of help for 2142

Guys, I come here in search of the BEST Battlefield Expertise! I'm trying to run 2142 which was claimed to me as not needing anymore requirement than bf2, HOWEVER, i can only get 8-15 FPS on 2142 where I can run 30-50 on Bf2. That is a huge difference for there being no more system requirement. I feels like I'm just laggign really bad at only a 40 ping. Here is my System Specs straight of the EA Easyinfo:

i'm running everything on the lowest settign possible except resolution, its at 1024x768 60hz refresh

yup, done them about 50 times thinking it just goofs up, but its not them. I know guys running older drivers than me having better in game play

i could only say, make sure your ram is operating properly. that can be a sticky issue

He means is his RAM working, some RAM can die and fail to work.

Daft as it may sound, having the most up to date driver isn't always the best way to go.

When I had an ATI card in my rig every time I tried updating my drivers it caused me all sorts of problems.

I know there are tweaked drivers available, guru3d.com being one site IIRC, also here.

You may also want to try either rolling back your drivers or installing the ones that actually came with your card and seeing what result you get.

It may help, it may not, but it's worth a try.

To check your RAM, try googling Memtest. I think this is a pretty good utility that will highlight any issues with your RAM.

TBH, that gfx card isn't great. Not only that, but you're using on-board sound. I think these two factors combined are making the game chug.

And if you decide to upgrade, do the gfx card first.

its not making much sense thought that my ram would be bad if i can run bf2 just fine and also if i can go into SP mode on 2142 and run my 30 FPS...nor my gfx card.

I can run BF2 on 30-50 FPS, but in 2142 it goes down to 10. I'm in the same boat as you, and that's why I'm not buying 2142 till I get a new pc.

i'm sure, i can switch right out of 2142 and go into bf2 and run perfect. its something in game my computer is not agreeing with. today i found out that i play a lot better on small servers 16-20, and crappy on 24+
