G'day,

My specs are:

1gig ram (just a 1gig stick)
ATI 9600 256mb video card
3.0 gHz pent 4
I'm running BF2 settings all on low/off, 90% view distance

Its been on and off for a while...for the past week ive got horrible FPS while playing BF2 (32 man jala server) I get around 15-20 FPS constantly. On 64 player karkand I can barely play...I get around 10-15 FPS.
A few weeks ago I was having the same problem...but this was with 1256 mb ram, I took out the 256 stick and all was fine for a week or so, then it started happening again.
What can be done to try and fix this?
I used to be able to play 64 man servers with ease...now I can't. Why is this?

Probably bad RAM..
Monitor your Video card temperatures.. see if your CPU is getting warm.

I also have that card and my BF2 has always been really quite laggy on low settings.

It is your Video Card I have a 9600 Pro in my media pc and it is laggy when playing bf2 I never had very good FPS. Another 512 to a gig of ram would help.

I run between 40-47C  Most cards will run above 100C during game play.

I think i'm going to upgrade my motherboard to support PCIe cards, and get 2gig ram. Is this a good idea?

Your card starts to die when it reaches 100C for a prolonged period of time.
