i always use headphones 99.9% of the time and im using the onboard sound at the moment on my Asus m2n sli deluxe mobo, would it be any better to have a sound card in thier. would it help anything, i heard it takes away usage of the cpu but i have a amd x2 am2 5000
Probably wouldn't notice a difference unless you went out and bought some 5.1 speaker things.

Yeh if you have crappy headphones or speakers its not worth it.
