The summary is that scientists have found a way to coat an object in 'metamaterials' which bend radar waves around the object, similar to the way a river flows around a rock.  They have made it work for radar, but not for visible light - primarily because visible light has a much shorter wavelength, thus the 'metamaterials' would need to be much thinner.

I read an article about this in popular mechanics 2 weeks ago, we still have a long way to go before we can "cloak" objects using metamaterials to bend light.

They can only bend microwaves right now. They're still working on ways to cloak visible light.
