Hey guys, I kinda mentioned this in my first thread over in complaints but thought I would post it here aswell.  Whenever I log in to my account for some reason the account server tries to auto-log into a game server.  I have no way of stopping it, once I hit Log-in I have to watch a spinning green 2 while Im guessing all the server's are compiled, my computer picks a random server, and it isnt until it is about halfway into loading the server I can finally hit escape.  This happens about 90% of the time I log in.  When it doesnt I have to wait a mighty 2 minutes to be logged in and looking at BFHQ or other tabs.  The rest of the time I have to watch a spinning two for up to 10 minutes depending on how slow a server was randomly picked.  Ive searched through the options and cant seem to find anything that would be causing this.  Anyone have any idea how I can stop this??

You read my mind. I have the same problem here and can't find an option to turn it off. I feel like such a dumbass.

Do you guys use the link 'play battlefield 2'  or 'play battlefield 2 online now'? I suppose u do use the first option, bc the 2nd will log u automatically into a server, but u aint noobs i suppose. Otherwise i wouldnt know how to turn it off, i would reinstall the program.

Stop using the "Online Now" icon... use the other one.

Awesomeness. Thank you I've changed PC's three times since I first started playing BF2, and this didn't happen on the last two computers. I just couldn't figure out what I was doing differently. Thanks again.

Thanks so much, glad it was something simple.  Decided to build a computer for this and when I did initial instal I was forced to run the game S-video to a tv (since my monitor hadnt shown up).  Had renamed the shortcut and didnt even realize it was doing that.

Right click the Play BF2 Online Now shortcut and delete the section that says something like "+play now 1" in the 'target' box.

Could another user just confirm what it acctually says (might be something like "+Playnow1" or "+Playnow 1", i cant remember.

edit: Check hear http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_7.html under the command line section. It says that it's +playNow
