Wow, that's a very nice response. Maybe if you had fully answered my question by telling me why football is so great, I could come up with a more elaborate response...

Baseball sucks you in, not a lot seems to be happening but I've sat and watched baseball for hours instead of going to bed

I gave up last year after playing of "afro-turf" since I was 12. Been coaching since 14.  I would say this but it isn't the girls game that people make it out to be.  Ive got the scars to prove it, the only padding I wore was on my left hand to stop me scraping the skin off my knuckles, I found shin pads to sissy.  The ball travels at approx 80-100 mph and is as hard as a golf ball.  I have no hairs on my knees or elbows due to leaving my skin on the pitches across south wales the last 10 years or so.  I really miss coaching the kids I must of given Wales at least 20 kids over the last 10 years and half of those have represented at full level.

Im 31 now and even though our club have pensioners who play I find it too cold now and expensive to run around when I could be watchingmy beloved high flying Cardiff City for free instead.  On saying that when my daughter can tolerate the cold Monday nights I will get back into coaching I think and aim to get her to represent our country aswell, as a coach you don't get a prouder moment, as a parent I would be just as thrilled.

The most nasty, aggresive sport I have played is Cricket, it's not the gentlemans game they say it is, im a bowler and if you smack me for 6, I'm going to try and hit you in the face with the next ball.

This am I had Nina Simone and Meatlump on in the house (music thread).  Football's to youth clubs rather than money to piss artists (arty bollocks).
