This is aimed at all the people who own the SD-8 Accipiter drone unlock or anyone who is thinking of going through the squad unlocks to own it. For anyone none the wiser, the SD-8 Accipiter drone is a drone that hovers around you acquiring targets and using two chain guns to destroy that target for you.
To even get this unlock you have to get the two prequisites that come before it, and to use the drone you have to be a squad leader with at least 4 members in it including yourself.
I have used this unlock substantially now, and i've come to the conclusion that they do kill, but i've had mine team kill and cause me many minus points using it. For example; the drone will follow you as best it can, if a teamate happens to come in between you and that drone while you are walking/running away the drone will teamkill that person. Who's fault is that? Yours apparently. Another instance is that if you're driving a vehicle say a mech, the drone has trouble following you, so it keeps hitting the mech because the mech is too big. This cause you 'Team Vehicle Damage' which is another problem with the drone.
Don't get me wrong, there are many upsides to the drone, it's gun is generally quite powerful and it targets at quite a distance. Also, the drone will survive during the 15 seconds that you are respawning acquiring kills for you (which is nice ) and it has some strong armour.
I'll let you decide whether you want this unlock or not, but as cool as it is to have a flying robot with chain guns shooting people for you, beware of the downsides. In short:
Plus:
-Free kills
-It's cool lol
Minus:
-Need's a squad with 4 or more people
-Has a tendency to teamkill
-Has a glitch in mechs causing 'Team Vehicle Damage'.
