i've always wondered since i got bf2 why is it called wake island 2007
Because the chain of events in BF2 takes place in the year 2007.
because the story of the maps is : China invades wake island Year 2006.
for 60 years ago japanese forces invaded the island too, but got defeated

Of course in the long run Japan lost ,yes. But the initial battle that this island became famous
for the US lost all their men.
