ok ok, so I have bought an ok comp from a yard sale for $25.00 ... its pretty good actually, its 512 mb of ram, 80 gb of space, and a 2.80 processor. SO i noticed it had specific porn sites on it.. and since it has no anti-virus program whatsoever I need to know if every porn site have viruses... cuz its only like 3 or 4...but i dont want to waste 40-60 $ for anti-virus on a already fucked up computer. so, do all porn sites have viruses? if so this bitch is going out my window.

Most of them have some form of spyware.

This is no big deal. Just FDISK and repartition the drive, and reinstall the OS.

Besides you don't want some weirdo's porn on your machine!

Plus you never know what he has installed on there. He could have given you a bait computer with a keylogger set on it to get any stuff like credit card info you enter.

If you dont know how to format or dont want to, then you can download a good anti-virus program from:
http://www.free-av.com/

I dont know where you can get a free anti-spyware program, but searching google would turn up results.

Anyway, good luck and happy holidays.

Spybot is a good spyware remover. AGV (or is it AVG?) is good AV program too. Look into those if you don't want to format...

p0rn sites does not contain extremely Virusses... they just contain a hell of an adaware
Expamples : Trojans that give u a hell of Pop Ups when u open an browsers, dialers that asked u to connect, Homepage that get changed and u just its not posible to remove that coz it keep changin back, Toolbars that u cant remove easy when u dont know anything about the system, a hell of an spam (if ur an outlook user), pop ups that just come out of nowhere even that anoying that they can fuck ur game up by forcing the pop up coming throught the games screen. and the PC lags as hell...well then u can say ur fucked up

if i would have knowed u i would help you by formating ur pc installing the right OS and installing some internet security for protection against those nasty ad-aware that they send via IP these days (i get about 25 attacks a day of Computers sending me a trojan, backdoors etc etc) but next time do not buy a PC that hasnt been formated and properly reinstalled .

in ur case ask ur parents or if u know someone : let him come over or bring ur pc there and let it get fixed it would take u about 3 - 5 hours to format -reinstall the OS  - and then the stuff u want on it

myself i use : Norton internet Security - and i tested it by going on a hell of dangerous sites (porn, hax, etc etc) and then i scanned my pc ... and nope not an adaware found...but Norton is famous about his memory usages...its a bit much but not disturbing  coz i play medium quality BF2 and i have only 512 of ram. but look for an Antivirus that is known as ''Panda'' (dont know if this is the full name of the program) but i heard from a friend it works well and takes less memory then Norton and i dont know if u have to pay for using ''Panda''

wtf is this shit? Are you all retarded? No offense, but this is the Tech Section, if you dont know jack shit, dont help.

WTF do you mean 'it has 3 porn sites' on your pc? A web site isn't on your PC, I mean, god damn. I've never heard something so idiotic.

All you have to do is delete your internet history/content/cookies and so forth, then go pirate some crappy norton programs and clean up, or pirate windows xp and reinstall for a fresh start (Because I know you're not going to buy anything).

But seriously, reformatting your computer because you have porn sites saved in IE is ludicris. It's like buying a new car because it has mud on the bumper.

Whoever had that PC also deserves the idiot award for today. I got my 512/80gig/2.30Gig PC for $2,000 3 years ago, and while prices go down, it is a decent machine worth a fuck of alot more than $25, consiter yourself lucky if thats really how much it was. There's gotta be something wrong with it other than a few porn sites saved in internet explorer though, unless the dude was totally retarded. Are you sure its not child porn?

And you guys must visit porn sites daily to know oh SO much about them too. You can get viruses in IE simply by visiting them, but its not going to be major, 90% of the time it'll be adware. Major porn sites arnt interested in trashing your PC, they make to much money to scare away potential customers by the way.

Of all my time actually using IE and ... visiting porn sites, I've NEVER gotten anything more than a warning, and belive me, I know when theres something on my PC that shouldn't be there.

A firewall isn't going to save you either, it's only meant as a compliment to the real power of internet security, which is your own intelligence, and this is strictly speaking in terms of home computing, obviously major networks cant have people sitting there monitoring everything, but your home PC?

I'm telling you man, a porn site in IE isn't something to shit yourself over and reformat. Programs and applications are not given rights to run when they reside inside the temporary folder in IE, to my knowledge anyway, I've never seen any do so, and I'm not advocating IE, I don't like it myself, but all you have to do is delete them all the normal way, and after that View your content by clicking on the "Settings/View Files" then type in the address bar (appending onto it) \Content.IE5\ and go in each folder and delete the files manually that are left behind. You wont see them gone until you leave the folder and go back in.

Once you've cleaned all that shit out, delete everything else on the PC you don't need, including programs in the Add/Remove you're not familiar with, and I mean everything, dont be curious. Clean your disk, defrag, and check out things like MS config, your startup, get some cleaning tools and clean it all out.

Download a free firewall and A/V and keep it for awhile, turn something on that's going to let you know what else may be left, if anything.

If you're not familiar with any of what I've mentioned, then either learn how to do it by using your favorite friend, google, and learn something in the process, or just be lazy and as a last resort, reformat.

I'm sorry, but there are other ways to fix a computer without reverting to the fix-all solution. But then again, I can't sacrafice half the files I have, maybe you guys can, but bare in mind, there are people out there who have importaint shit on their pc.

But telling someone to reformat without fixing the problem at hand really doesn't show any kind of intelligence.

The guy sounds like a noob to tell that too, but at least you can say you've tried.

If you want any help with this, PM me or just ask and I'll explain in detail.

to the guy above...

i agree on some points
like about 3 porn pages ON the pc u mean in the PC explorer history

but if that dude has problems with ad aware thats something else.
If u havent installed an A/V or Internet Securety program before going only fully or u have already a hell of an adaware...dont forget some nasty scripts and stuff can be a dificulty for an Ad aware remover or Norton, panda or whatever that calls itself an anti virus. i tested it on my old Pentium 4 . first i loaded a hell of adawares on my pc to really fuck it up. i was on about 1800+- adaware stuff...well this is extreem i know it ... but i installed a hell of removers ...some aint worth Shit, some tracks them but cant remove, some removes them but not by the source so the windows registry reloaded the ad aware.... and norton didnt work anymore coz some i loaded contained an norton scanner disabler. well ad aware can be really nastty

when i bought an PC empty or i formated one i always follow my install schema

1. Install the OS
2. Install the Drivers
3. Install the (in my case) Norton internet security
4. Install my  DSL Router and configurate it to go online  and update my norton to the last updat there is
5. install my games, applic, etc etc

after that my PC stays clean

To the guy above me ^

Theres also a thing called "Safe Mode" that's useful in those cases. I guess if you didn't have anything on the PC reformatting would be easier and less hair pulling, but the next time it happens down the road, are you going to know how to remove it yourself? Or will you have to reformat again. When you know how those things work, its very easy to deal with a shit storm of it. And loading a PC with a ton of viruses and adware and the like is not really an effective way to test an applications strength. At least to a certain degree, especially if everything is competing for the resources, all you're going to get is lag. You can't stop all viruses and shit with A/V if it doesn't know its signature/behavior.

I'm not sure about all porn sites having viruses (or virii?), but sometimes when I visit a porn site my wrist starts to ache.

Does anyone know if it is a virus which causes this?

the reason it was sold for 25 bucks is because you bought it off some registered sex offender and the FBI is now looking for that exact computer.

or, somebody just stole it off the streets from a sex offender and knew it was sought after by the FBI so he passed it up quick.

format dude. infact, format 7 times over to erase all "electronic footprints" the scientists talk about. sike!

download the damn thing, it's easy to find an OS on bearshare or whatever program you use, just make sure you get a valid CD key. hell i got this bad ass CD that has 4 different operating systems and CD keys for all..cracked of course. shit is bad ass!

BTW, if the CPU has hyper threading, be sure to get Pro instead of Home.

Spybot is a good spyware detecter/remover. It's free too. Only thing is that it takes a hell long time to scan for all existing stuff out there.

Get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6837102059 and use it to reformat and reinstall windows on that PC. I wouldn't take any chances, you don't know what hidden stuff could be on there, especially since it was so cheap.
