I was wondering wut was up with those mini cannons on the blackhawk. why did they get taken off. I wasn't around when the game came out so can someone explain.
you mean the rocket pods or the miniguns? because in 1.00 those miniguns were equal to cannons...

As to why they got taken off, who knows. It might actually give the SkyCow some purpose now that they nerfed the mini-guns on either side. Litterally... you can switch to another seat and kill with a pistol faster than you can kill with the Minigun.

Did the pilot control the rocket pods. Could they take out tanks and shit.

The blackhawks gave the USMC there only major advantage in terms of vehicles in BF2, then they nerfed it, I really would have liked to have been able to do that one time. : (

I dont recall any rocket pods. Before the game came out, there were preview movies that showed rocket pods on blackhawks, but they were never in the game.

Basically, it is undestood that the rockets were originally supposed to be part of the Blackhawk (and this is why you see them in pictures and trailers), but were taken out prior to launch of the game ... likely for balance reasons.

same thing with the M107 and the LCAC.
It was taken out because it made the Blackhawk way to powerful..
If you were around when the Blackhawk was in its glory days, you would understand..
If they didn't take it out, it would be like a Attack helicopter on steroids..
Just think about it.. Rockets at the front and 2 Mini-guns on the side that if you shot 5 feet from someone, they would die.
Not to mention that 3 engineers could be repairing the BH so that people would have a really hard time shooting it down.
