my son abandon the mouse idea and get a joy
I use a joystick for flying bombers. Helicopters, no way in hell. Fighters it depends on my mood lol. (and the level of competition)alpinestar wrote:

People invert their mouse while flying a choppers and stuff? Hmmm... I should try that some day...
I awlays use standard for everything.

I always reverse the mouse.
No mouse, I`ve tried it and suck at it. I prefer my JS
I can't stand inverted mouse
My mouse is ALWAYS inverted
(That means inf too )

I've always wondered what causes people to have to do one or the other. My brother uses infantry inverted which to me is completely unnatural. I think of the gun thing as point and click. However when flying, we both use inverted, and I think of flying as having a flight stick.
I tried an experiment the other day and used inverted infantry and I found that the times I was able to do it was when I would concentrate and think "like a plane" constantly. However as soon as I got into a firefight, I would lose my focus on that and completely screw up.
The mind works in mysterious ways indeed.

I asked a few of my friends this question.. it seems as though all the more skilled players I play with don't invert while the others do invert it... Weird. I must be very unskilled.
The only thing I have the mouse is inverted for is planes. I voted no because I don't use the mouse to fly with planes. I just got used to the non-inverted way of flying the choppers.
i hate invert it confuses the shit out of me
nope... don't use a mouse while flying... no need for it... keyboard only ftw!!
My infantry invert comes from flight simulators back in the mid 80's. And a game called artic fox which was a FPS tank game in the mid 80's. Everything was invert. Every game after that was invert.GotMex? wrote:

Same thing happens to me when I play standard at a buddies.
Invert just feels unnatural for me. I've never played with inverted controls for any game.
I used to play with invert mouse many many many years (for every shooter n stuff) but after playing wow for 6 months my invert skills were destroyed... now I'm a mortal-non-invert-using-loser
I invert only for planes..choppers are easy non inverted.
what is it with reviving all these old threads lately!
Invert the X-as, now that's funny!

inverting is the way to do it. I'd love to see one of you non-inverted people have to save a plane from crasing into a mountain by pulling on the joystick at the last moment (for style, obviously) only to crash nose-first into said mountain 5 seconds earlier
Trying to get tips before your DOGFIGHT ehhh LOL
no... cant play like that
I fly jets with a joystick... lol?Sir Aidyn Sage wrote:

1942 style flying...inverted ftw!
YES
I cannot see how anybody can play with the invert in its default setting (off). I really think having the default setting to be 'invert = off' is one of the stupidest things i've seen in a long time, and have no idea why EA did that. They did it in 2142 as well.
I have seen countless Privates trying to take off in a Blackhawk only to flip it on its back while being totally confused like i was when i first flew (offline thankfully). Its such a weird default setting.
