That's a tough break, but....
I work in a casino (as a poker dealer). You will *never* see me on any of the gaming tables (blackjack, roulette, brag, punto, etc.). There's no skill, it's pure chance, and the odds are against you. If you're GOOD at poker, play that, and in the long term, you can make money.
The golden rule of going into a casino is this: Don't put more money on the table than you can comfortably afford to lose.
If you've spent a year saving for a trip to Vegas and have €/£/$3000 saved up that you know you can lose on the tables, go ahead, play what you like, and enjoy it. You might even get lucky! But never, ever, put money down that will hurt you to lose. Take a leaf from the professionals books, work out a bankroll. Even the top poker pros, who are making good money these days, will never allow themselves to stake more than 1/50th or so of their bankroll on a game.
So yeah, hard luck, but you were a bit foolish gambling with money you can't afford to lose. As has been mentioned before, don't, whatever you do try and "win" it back. Carrying nothing but your ID and the spare cash you can take a hit on into the place is a damn good idea.
