Why wont it play BF2?

My friend got a eVGA 7900GTO and when he tried to start BF2 is goes to a black screen. Then goes back to the desktop.

Other specs -
E6600 C2D
2GB Corsair XMS DDR2800
eVGA 7900GTO

Plays everything but BF2. Yes he has all teh drivers. Everything.

Meaning its a problem with BF2. try all the usual, if not then reinstall.

he has. all drivers are updated.

or try go to bios and set off the "fast write support" on there ,new gforce based chips have some problems whit it

Well set the desktops refresh rate to 60Hz if it's not already then try to start the game, my friend has to do that if he reinstalls and starts for the first time, but can't remember if it was because of that kind of problem or something else
