I know this is an american site, so many of you are probaly connected to some sort of religion.

But I dont... I am more to the Big Bang. Because if God created the Universe, then who created God??

God created himself out of nothing. Then that nothing must have been something. Coz nothing can creates with out, well.... NOTHING right?

THIS IS NO HATE-TO-RELIGON-THREAD.. I just wanna know your opion on the subject.

I believe religion was created originally as a means of explaining the unexplainable. Over the course of our time on this planet it evolved to a means of controlling people such as in Medieval times, to a guideline on how to live your life like in current times.

I believe in science but I can see how some people worship a middle eastern carpenter that lived 2000 years ago.

If you cannot believe in the basic premise of Faith then there really is no way that I, or other Christians would be able to explain to you the other building blocks of the Christian belief. True Christianity should never try to shove a belief on someone. All I am required to do is be there for those who are called. I nor any other Christian can save anyone nor can we convert. For the 7th day / WatchTower Readers in the crowd, we are called to spread the word but we in ourselves cannot save anyone.

As long as you have heard the name of Jesus and someone has presented you with the truth, there's not much else we can do for ya. You will either believe, or not. It's all about your relationship with God anyhoo.

btw, even if you are an Atheist you believe in something so wouldnt really say its foolish. You choose to believe in a nothing, were I/We believe to choose in something/someone.

I think that Christianity trys to teach people to live good lives, and to try to be good people. As an Atheist I believe I can do this without the aide of blind faith.

here is how religion happened,

as man evolved, they discovered how to use tools (i.e a stick). This developed mans thinking, making them look for better tools wtc, or ways to do things. Once the mind developed, people thought, "Why are we able to think and act different to other animals? and how did we learn how to use tools for our benefit, where other animals can't?" And thus, God/s(intervention) was/were created to explain what early humans could not. It developed from there, different religions were eventually made, and as said before, used to control people's way of life.
While it does give some people hope (ie christians) that they wont just "be dead" after they die, it just causes more problems for the world as a whole.

religion isnt important, and its easy/ier to be a "good" person without it.
