Increasing BF2142 performance

Hi there,

I excitedly load up BF2142 each time forgetting from last time that it ran like a pile of shit, and when I get on the titan i get the same graphics and frames per second as if a small child was drawing 2142 on my monitor with crayons. I have all of the settings on Low, and im still getting 3 - 5 fps in the titan

Does anyone have any performance increasing ideas?

(and yes I've done all the obvious shit like shutting down background applications etc..)

Yea, I get the same thing except im running 2 7800GT COs and mine dips to about 20. Seems to me the titan overheats my card as it runs around 66 Celcius when I alt tab out.

My cards idle at 54 Celcius (Hot system)

What kind of hardware are you running?

Talon: Stop reading this and look at my post; +341|7017

If you have dual-core, turn one off. Bf2142 doesnt support it and it lowers your framerate by 20 or so.

i had this problem but on all modes. i rolled back my drivers and made sure my card didnt go above 55 celcius. i run my game on 1 6600gt and that isnt even supposed to work lol.

Well I have the same problem, and I have: amd athlon64 3700+ 2GB ram and ati x850xt.
My another computer, I have same problem with this one: athlon64 3500+ 1,5GB ddr2 ram 7600gt.
My fps are like 15-25 in titan.
My temperatures are like 75C with ati, but at that temperature in bf2 is no problem,
with 7600gt they hit 90C(passive cooled... lol) and no lag in bf2 with that either.

yup same here
ea really should have done something about this before the game came out.... at least they should have made it so the titan was a little more simple graphics wise

Titan mode is a lagfest, conquest is 3 times smoother than BF2.

I played on a 20 man server Titan server today and experienced no lag what-so-ever.

same, except for low settings, which improves everything. but high and medium are about the same. my rig:

Intel P4 dual core 3.4 ghz processor
ATI Radeon x1900xt
2 gb ddr2 ram

WE NEED TO FIND OUT A FIX FOR CRAPPY F.P.S. IN THE GAME!!!!

well lads we all have the same prob well nearlly all of us, i runa low spec pc on medium settings
pent 4 2.8
2gig NOT DUEL
nvidia 6600 pci
400 input ISH cant be asked to look

but i find that if i play a server thats only max 32 the the screen dont chav so much, so untillthe new patch comes out play lower player servers and i am sure you guys with higher specs will be fine

I have a question as well for you guys, I seem to lag tremendously on titan mode. Do any of you know how to fix this, should I lower my settings? As of right now I have all settings on medium with frame lag once I get into the titan. So thats my question.

If the commanders are moving the titans, especially when the shields are down and they are being boarded, it lags like a mofo. I have a S939 4800+ X2, X1900XT, and 2gb Mushkin Extreme and mine lags so bad, I have to get off of the titan. Some servers prohibit you from moving the titan for this very reason.

you cant turn the second core off anyhow. what he meant is to force bf2142 to only use 1 core, leaving the 2nd for all the other crap

Yeah. I get about 15-20 more FPS and a lot less crashes.

It's the geometry that fucks the FPS up, i had similar problems in the titan, try changing the geometry to medium or low.
