- BF2142 needs to have Titan ATTACKER Pin
Well, I am not bothering at this point to tell EA/DICE about this since they are already swamped with the BF2142 bug fixing and improvement (I hope.... and I seriously do hope so...)mikeyb118 wrote:

LoL
People are fully utilizing the skills of the game. You never see Engineers defusing explosives or Snipers shooting them with the Zellar to open up the hall. People never chuck gernades round corners to kill sentry guns. People never make mad dashes down the hall and chuck gernades into the group of defenders to scatter them. There is never a medic around to revive you. NOONE EVER PUTS BEACONS ON THE DAMN TITAN WHEN YOU REALLY NEED ONE. Alot of these can be fixed by better tactics applied by squads, but we'll have to see if it actually developes.
You never see Engineers defusing explosives: Why would I stand unprotected to defuse something? This is the most useless unlock. And I play Engi 50% of the time, PDS-1 and Motion mine are what I carry around and I only assault the Titan as Support or Recon (Didn't work the Assault three yet).
People never chuck gernades round corners to kill sentry guns: Don't know which server you are playing but this is what I do or that's what others do to mine. Sniping Sentry works too.
NOONE EVER PUTS BEACONS ON THE DAMN TITAN WHEN YOU REALLY NEED ONE: Sentry are the best portable Beacon you can have. I'll put it in a place where it can't be shot at just to make sure it will give the position of the enemy [Edit]: Oups... you meant the Squad Beacon... Right, as a Squad leader I always try to put one on the Titan and once we are inside, I'll put one inside to keep the pressure on the defence.
The Reality is you DO need more people to attack the Titan. But you can easily defend it with 3-4 people well coordinated; if the other side only send 5-6 people to destroy the Titan. But I played on servers where you have 8-9 guys attacking and you can't defend the Titan with only 3-4 people when this happens, or at least it will be more difficult. The key for attacking is to go for the Titan as the shield goes down.
You should always go for 1-2 first. Defending becomes so easy when the other side starts with 1-3 or 2-4. You only need to defend one corridor.
[EDIT 2]And to answer the question: No I don't think you need a "Titan Attack"pin. I get the same amount of points by either attacking or defending. It is just easier to get point as a "Solo" player when you defend. But if you get a good squad.... I'll attack instead of defending.

PIN_405 Might or might have not been the titan attacker pin...
Titan Survival Pin was not the only pin removed.
Titan Survival Pin was not the only pin removed.
In my opinion would be better if they would fix the game first then later add awards
I don't agree with this, i still se a team in BF2 get their ass kicked som much its just over in 10-15min. Some people just don't want to play in squads because they think they can do better alone. Some people can't really get better because they don't play often or are not really interest in the game.Towelly wrote:

Any decent well organised team Myself and spawnofthemist can effectively assault a titan and come out the better, it will be a little while before the slightly less intelligent players catch on to these tactics, even longer before your average player does, but in the end people will be able to assault a titan effectively. But still not as effectively as me and spawn.
Only then will the titan assault pin make a difference, what it will do for now is speed up the learning process as more people will be willing to attack and therefore learn from players who working effectively, so I'm all for it.
(btw I do notice the hypocrisy between this post and one I made around a minute later)
Attacking enemy titan as engineer with pillum make your squad a deadly console destroyer, for example if you are with a Support person you can manage to take out 3 consoles pretty quick as soon the shield goes down.
Second engineer goes arond defusing stuff? don't get me wrong but I really don't wanna do that because those who put them out will blow the shit out of me as soon he see me get close. Also the stuff goes away when the person dies.
Throwing nades is common, really. Its just that the nades have problem getting to the end when the enemy is moving the titan because then the nades comes back to you and you need to stand in the middle of hall to get a good throw and that's often result in a death.
Stormeye... don't you think you play a little too much? I noticed your points are pretty high, indicating around 8 hours of gameplay since the game came out. You might want to ease up on the video games bro.
I haven't played 2142 (sucky vid card, getting a x1300 or x1600 soon), but I like this idea. Too bad EA will just forget about us ;-)
BTW...
BTW...
It's nice to see someone who has played C&C games. I'm pretty young (in the teens, I'll let you guess) but I remember the C&C series well. That was the first series of games I bought. I remember when my dad got a bundle for free and it came with Red Alert-StormEye wrote:

yeah and it should add up to 20 or so points like the titan defender pin also.
Its been 2 weeks since the game came out exactly. Thats 14 days. 8 hours/14 days = a little more then 30 minutes a day. Thats nothing.kotumaru wrote:

8 hours a day dude, not 8 hours total.
I have 21 hours since the game came out and I have roughly 1300~ points. He has over 8000... figure that one out. 21x6.3 = 132.3, and 132.3 / 14 = 9.45, minus the fact that he has some badges that I don't = roughly 8 hours of 2142 a day average.

well i am just a master seargent silver (approx 3550 pts) and i havent played more than 40 hrs...........and by your process i would have played 56hrs or something like that, so bear in mind that SPM can influence the total time a fair bit (as with awards).kotumaru wrote:

It's called the "Titan Combat Excellence" badge. So, like I said, not sure if you guys knew but thought it was worth mentioning.
