Why are there no 64 player versions of all of the conquest only maps. Yes 64 people can play on them but were they designed for it? Hell no. Think about how small and horribly linear they are. Think about how big the playing area is compaired to the maps on BF2. If it weren't for the fog you could probably snipe uncap to uncap on some of them. Belgrade is the one exception as it's significantly wider than any of the other and therefore actually allows some measure of tactics. All the conquest maps seem to be fine with 32 but with 64 man very often degenerates into utter deadlock as both teams are trying to assault the next flag across a 100m wide front which goes absolutely nowhere.

- The problem with conquest only maps...
I like 48 man servers that run titan and city maps, but those are hard to come by. I agree that the maps are too small, but then again people come from Karkand so nade spam is only normal for them.
titan mode should not be played with 48 players apparently.
nah its supported for 48 man servers, anything above and i find it lags like a bitch.theDude5B wrote:

Anything above 32 on titan and i lag.
Or when in a moving titan,i lag.

The only real deadlocked city map I see is "Fall of Berlin". Yet this is not because the map is badly designed but because it suffers from the Karkand-smurf syndrome: The vast majority of players just prefers nade spamming and camping over moving and capping flags. I can't tell how often I got past the defenders and died because of an APM or camper near the back flag I decided to cap - any squadmember with a defib could have revived me..:XDR:.PureFodder wrote:

With a somewhat smart commander and slightly clever players in the Mech and APC, it is possible to break the deadlock at Crossroads and either make it past the defenders to cap another flag or cap Crossroads and move on from there.
The other maps... well, they offer a variety of small combat zones. No one requires you to engage in the most obvious places. Try to avoid enemy squads and cap a flag somewhere in the back.
If the vast majority of players is stupid enough to focus on certain points on the map, be smarter, move around them and cap them out.
You're on your own and get no support? Two options:
1. Find the next best combat zone and go in all guns blazing. Chances are you kill 2 or 3 before they get you.
2. Find some friends to play with you to make sure you have support.
All in all, Conquest mode holds it all: Larger maps that are also playable in Titan mode and smaller city maps. The maps are IMO well designed, it is up to you what you make of the given situation.

wherever you got that information from is horribly wrong.theDude5B wrote:

titan mode is not supported for more than 48 players.
it still runs, yet anything over 48 and.. well.. yeah.
Then again if you look at the Titan maps, i find them often to big. the silos in some maps are all pretty close to each-other, so you have lots of open space at the sides where no one goes, because there's nothing there.
Overall i think a lot of maps could use some redesigning.

Belgrade is the only real good conquest map that isn't utterly linear. Cerbere and Gibraltar do okay as well, but there is not a lot of room for movement.
Tunis is really disappointing (the 32 and 16 player maps should be merged into a 64 player Tunis map, that would be awesome) and AmbassadorofPain summed up Berlin well.
It's not that the maps arn't fun, it's that they could be a lot better.

64 man conquest maps are the win. Constant hot death ftw. It's the only thing I miss about BF2, the pure ground assault maps. Camp Gibaltar or however it's spelled is the best map for 64 man servers, it rocks my world.
Those small infantry maps with 64 players are lovely. :3 Always get loads of points on them with the right squad. Me an my buddy was on one of those and we got all unlock again within 1 round. Not only that but I had almost constant points coming in from bonus of the attack order I placed out.
Later we had 4 members that kicked ass and I almost never saw who I killed. XD
