vehicles are more balanced in BF2142, walkers are very easy to take down, titan mode is only laggy when the titan is moving which will be fixed in the next patch. 2142 relys heavily on teamwork, everyon has a chance against eachother, the base weapons are excellent. most of the servers i go to have full working squads. but yes the air vehicles suck ass.
i flew with a guy the other day who was amazing with the tv missiles. i was in disbelief. if i had fraps running, i would have made you a video. it just takes practice i guess, but he was killing things left in right.LT.Victim wrote:

In my opinion, 2142 and bf2 are two completely different games. One is based in 2142 while the other one is based in todays modern warfare. So its really up to weather you prefer modern warfare or games like timesplitters.
Erm half of timesplitters was set in the past 0_o, I don't see the comparison
MY opinion is, Battlefield 2142 for fun / pubbing, and Battlefield 2 for TWL and CAL. I think Battlefield 2 is just so much more intense fighting rather than "Quick to the Walker!, ill tk every noob for it!" Kind of mind set.
eh. hard for me to choose. i like them both equally to be honest.
But it is hilarious when an air transport gets too close to the ground and you watch motion mines float upwards towards it.
Eh! im playing 2142 now and have not played BF2 since i got 2142 but i wouldn't never describe it as a game that sux, i think they are both good but BF2 will always have the edge as the skill involved with bf2 ie jet and choppers is far more engrossing that 2142, i find the equipment in 2142 just not as good but even so still a good game.GR34 wrote:

I can honestly say that i've been a pilot to 2 of the best gunners i've ever had. They can use the tv guide thing extremely good. 1 of them is 2nd best player in australia (Andhyka) and the other one (Ming_Snake) is also a really good gunner.LT.Victim wrote:

Sure, I can Fly and take out tanks and walkers with my Dumbfire Missles, thats not hard at all..
Heli fights are easy as hell... just fire in the direction of the other heli, and unless he doesn't use active defense or watever, hes fucked.
They mine as well just get rid of the "F2" position in the helis, cause when i'm flying, Forget about him Taking out tanks and walkers.. only good for taking out Troops, untill you get a missle up your ass cause the helis cant Circle a base for shit.

In my non professional opinion,Bf2 is old for me and i played It the other day and just thought "What's the point" and went back to 2142.
2142 TV missiles aren't easy,but they also aren't hard.They are slow so you can hit things flying at obscene angles,like right behind you.

and yeah the tv missiles are easy to use it just depends wat ur mouse sensitivity is set on. i keep mine on the medium sensitivity.
was gonna write something but this pretty much sums it up. bf2 is the best but after so many hours (600), a change of pace is nice. if you give 2142 a chance you'll realize it does many things well, even better than bf2. on the other hand bf2 is a classic and i have never spent 600 hours on a game before.AmbassadorofPain wrote:

As far as "which is better" is concerned: I know 2 people that dropped 2142 after just a few weeks now. One is eager to sell it, the other has just given it to someone else.
It seems a lot like 2142 will never climb the same heights BF2 reached and will never have the same cult status.
I personally haven't played BF2 for a few weeks already, since 2142 is out basically, and I doubt I'll return anytime soon if at all. That meanwhile is less an indication of 2142's quality but rather a sign of how fed up I am with BF2 after about 1300 hours. I just don't feel like going on anymore.
I don't like to admit it, but... BF2 was a lot more appealing and addictive, to me at least.
Technically, I'd say 2142 owns BF2 any time. As far as action, atmosphere and fun factor are concerned, BF2 is clearly ahead.
if EA were smart they would take BF2 and make an updated BF3 which would still be modern combat but updated with new graphics, teamwork emphasis, more vehicles and similar gameplay...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
For some people its hard to move on, but they will come in 3 months from now with there noobie accounts without no unlocks and get owned by 95% of people that have played before them and have all the unlocks sad but true.

I believe you are wrong 2142 is perfectly balanced in bf2 the planes are not even close the guns are way different i play just as well on both teams as assault in 2142 and in bf2 i can only use the g3. with having to get the sprint unlocks it gives some people an advantage in getting vehicles that noobs dint need.RDMC(2) wrote:

I voted for 2142 because frankly I'm quite tired of playing BF2 and I love the new features like the new unlock system, Titan mode, better teamplay etc.
