I've been trying to hone my piloting skills on the gunships, but damn if it's pissing me the hell off.
I can be perfectly behind a slow moving transport, match it's speed, send off my missiles and watch all of them do some crazy twirly ballerina bullshit that ends up missing the transport.
At the same time I can be at a horrible angle of attack on another gunship, and miraculously have all my missiles hit.
There seems to be an ideal distance for the pilot missiles to "home". If you're too close, they have a habit of doing some swirling bullshit. I'm not exactly sure what the ideal range is but if you're missing because of erratic missile behavior, back off a bit.
I honestly can't see the difference between mass spamming of missiles vs careful one shot placement where you compensate for the left and right offsets of the launchers.
I'm not asking for crazy homing sidewinders from BF2, but at the same time I'd like to see some consistency in missile behavior.
Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, so any tips to toss out?
