pfft...norwegian salmon (or more properly atlantic salmon), has nothing on sockeye, coho or even a good chinook salmon, hell pink salmon taste better if done right. the only thing atlantic salmon has going for it, is good PR and a world class chef that can add the proper blend of herbs and spices to make it taste somewhat palatable. it is an excellent sport fish, and if all you have access to is atlantic salmon, then i guess it might be the best ever...if you've never had any other kind of salmon to compare it to.
barbecue sockeye salmon, gently marinated in a light teriyaki sauce then tenderly placed on a hot grill. sprinkled with some fresh ground pepper and sea salt....FTW...
