BF2S Forums Top Five Reasons for getting rid of the Punish Option

Cause a lot of people have itchy trigger fingers as much as itchy punish ones, I admit tonight I auto punished this guy who really did not deserve it.  I ran down and he blew me up wif the explosives and I was really gettin pissed before that point so I punished him.  His clan mate ran to revive me, and I felt like such a prick after that, so I joined his squad and apoligised over Voip and he was actually pretty good about it lol, nice guy.  I usually do what the guys have said, wait for about 10 seconds for an apoligy, or something, after that it is his problem, be careful in futre but yeeeeeesh, the amount of pricks that play this game is unbeliveable.  Yet that is hypocritical of me to say, but the vast majority of the time I forgive, less it is obviously completley intentional.

In saying that though, I had a guy follow me from a server and tk me 3 times in a row, and obviously punished, after his fourth one I actually just forgave and he left me alone after that, so a bit of reverse physcology for these kids can help   Laughed my ass coz he called me a dumb yanke bastard, when I am a scot becoming a doctor 8-).

Should study for that rather than play video games but oooooo well thats life!

People who punish for accidental team-kills wig me out. I start to froth at the mouth, my eyes start to bleed, and horns grow out of my skull, then I cry and quit the game.

Really though, I myself forgive unless it is very apparent that someone purposely team-killed me. Even idiots are forgiven. After all, it's still partly my fault for letting an idiot fly me somewhere, let alone stay anywhere near him.

I did not read the entire thread, so sorry if this has been said.

The team kill punish button is a benefit.  How many more times do you hear about someone getting shoot out of a plane or helo.  If those people knew that they would not be punished, they would do it more often.  Just because people abuse the punish button, does not mean that it should be removed. 

I know that this is asking a lot of EA, but they should somehow not allow a chance to punish if it was a accident.  For example, if your team mate runs into your gun fire, then the server should be able to register that you were shooting first, then the person ran into the fire.  So you should not be reliable for the tk.  Another example is if you throw a nade into a building before entering it (this is a strategic act, not nade spamming) and one of your team mates goes Rambo, and runs into the entrance.  They should not have the option to punish.

I can see both the benefits, and the draw backs of having that option enabled.

First of all, I don't understand why people care so much.  Secondly, I punish people as a form of conditioning.  I don't care if you're sorry, or if it was an accident. I usually forgive, but if you teamkill me because you did something stupid, or something you shouldn't have done i will punish.  Yesterday I punished a guy because he did something retarded.  He called me a dick for punishing then purposely teamkilled me.  Why the hell do you people care so much?

nothing worse than some putz wantitng to detroy a console with a pea shooter when you have laid explosives onit ...  "go go go" "go go go" "go go go" "go go go"  .... he won;t move. . you blow it ... you get punished ... total cuntistry ...

In 2142 if someone runs into my line of fire and clearly sees i am engaged in shooting the enemy and still choose to run across.  Then when they get shot by me for not seeing them in time and punish me for TK then i go find them and wait for them to start shooting so i can stand in front and punish them back.  Majority of time i forgive unless it is some stupid ass who intentionally TKd me.

Well there are these snipers that don't wait a second for the people who don't know what a demo pack is getting away from it but instantly press the fire buttom as soon as he is in cover. He could care less about the others around and then he go Need Ammo/heal. Like hell bitch, you'll killing everyone close to the reactor and then got the guts to ask for heal and ammo. Screw you.

Though those who warns other but when they won't go away it's another story.

Also as much as I would love to get rid of that function it's still good to have it in because then you can punnish those idiots who do stupid things.

I think alot of people took the old Cartillery avoidance tactic of something resting on the "e" key, and transferred it over to "page up."  I don't really punish often but when I do, you probably were acting like an asshat.

Punishment is pretty harsh; it's bad enough we lose points just by TKing, and most people add insult to the injury.  98% of my team-kills are accidental (I've vented on someone who was pissing me off maybe a few times at most) and people should know that; we've all made the same mistakes.  Forgiveness is my way to go; I figure if enough people set an example, everyone else will follow suit.
